Expect to get some bruises and get shot up a bit the first few games. The main thing I can tell you is to keep moving if you can. Don't stay in any one place too long or you can get flanked. You can also pick up a few magazines at your local book store. A good one for beginners is Action Pursuit Games. It has some good articles for guys just starting out.

As far as Enterprise, it stared pretty good but has slumped a bit. It had some cool things going for it and I liked the idea of a group of guys just starting out and dealing with all the problems of first going into deep space. It quickly fell into the old pattern of stumbling around through space dealing with issues on a show to show basis. I tend to like drawn out ongoing plots rather than chopped up plot-lets. I still like all the Treks, though.
Hey Load, thanks for the advice. I have talked to my friend Jim and he says that the invitation is still open for me to go so I said I would, hopefully next weekend. He says he has equipment I can borrow. In the meantime I will try to find some magazines to learn a little more, especially Action Pursuit Games. Jim is a good player and says he will help me learn and give me encouragement so I am not too apprehensive about trying the game at least once. I can take a bruising pretty good so I think I can handle getting hit a few times at first. Thanks again.

I'm glad you like all of the Treks. As I said I am not a huge fan of the new Enterprise series but I thought it started out stongly too. Stick with it,it may just be in a slump like you said. While you are at it,make sure you keep watching the other series' too, particularly the original one. It was the best and still is the best IMO.

Unfortunalty, The original is being broadcasted on any of my channels. Occasionally, one pops up on Sci-Fi late at night. Next Gen comes on pretty regularly now but I've pretty much seen them all and they are getting repetative.

I really wish someone would show DS9 again.

Hope you have fun at your first paintball game.

I don't really watch Enterprise that much. If I happen to catch it its cool but if I miss it it's not big deal. There's no continuity. Everyone, who knows Star Trek knows that TNG was the first to discover the feringi so how could they show up in the Enterprise? And the whole Mind Meld thing was stupid.

I think the acting is good and the show has lots of potential, they just don't know where they're going right now and need to figure it out.

Um, hello back? I thought this thread had died. Wow, shows that I can be wrong. Anyway, I feel I must admit it. I'm somewhat of a closet trekkie. I like the original series (although I like the some of the movies with the original crew better than the series), and I like ST:TNG. Didn't really get into DS9, and Voyager was acceptable. I haven't seen Enterprise yet.

Of course, my liking of Star Trek PALES in comparison to my love of Star Wars and paintball.
                      Sorry.

Wow. I thought this would have died a long time ago. Oh well, now I have to add something

The directors edition of ST2 Wrath of Khan.

Oh yea... It's gonna be great.

I was quoting a Dilbert catroon. Ratbert was sitting on Dilbert's shoulder, and he said, "I may be an ignorant rat, but that's ok, because ignorance is, ... is, ... is,...", then Dilbert says "Bliss. Ignorance is bliss". Then Ratbert says, "Great, now it's gone!"
