I have Cable and I can download 100mb file in 20min and 500mb in 45min It all depends on the server or person I hook up to. Its still fasssst though...

Broadband is nice, I'm on 3Mb corporate DSL at home, but there ain't nothing like a real pipe. We've got 4 OC-48's into the office at work, with 100Mb Full-Duplex ethernet from the routers to my desk. Oh the wonders of working for a backbone provider.

I think speeds of cable modems vary alot from place to place.

I used to be on dialup, it sucked. Downloading at 2.6kbps . Now I'm at school and we have multiple OC-3s. The network running through my dorm is only 10 base-t though. My download speeds are all over the place, it really depends on the server. I've seen speeds over 750k a second a number of times. Not much higher than that though.

I dont really care for kazaa. I still use it though :\ It's a pain to find someone who isn't on dialup. And nobody knows how to rip cds either. Try out direct-connect. You'll find a lot more stuff on that than kazaa. It's a little harder to use though.
