    My first new car..finally.

After fighting for years to save up and repair my rotten credit I finally went yesterday and bought my first new car. A 2003 Toyota Matrix XRS. I'm so psyched I half considered driving to Chicago for Shatnerball.

Congratulations! What do you think of that car? Obviously you liked it enough to buy, but how is the interior ergos, handling, performance? That thing is supposed to be the hottest thing going this year.
Any reason why you chose the Toyota over the Pontiac version?

I chose Toyota because I have had them before and trust them implicitly. I still miss my old Celica.

It handles like a sports car. I spent the extra for the 180 horses so it has great pick-up; if I'm not careful it's easy to spin the tires. I'm not sure how to discribe the inside. It's built like a cockpit. Short shifter. 6 CDchanger/stereo plus voice navigation system. But it has enough cargo room to were I could stick a ton of stuff in the back. My wife wanted a mini-van and I wanted a smaller car along the lines of a Subaru outback, so this was our compromise.

Mmm... tasty. How about the sound in it? (not speakers, I mean as in loudness of inside the car) I can't stand hearing the road...

Does the voice navigation thing have a moving map display as well? I saw that on a Camry and thought it was cool.

                  very quiet Crizo.

Yea it has the moving map. you can also pull out on the view to find the roads you need or plug in your destination by fastest, shortest or alternate routes and it gives you voice promts at the turns. I played with it going home and got a very nice female voice telling me were to go.

                  God I love toys.

                        Load,
What does your wife think of the moving map/voice nav option. I was grinning ear to ear watching it, my wife thought I was a dork for enjoying it as much as I did.

Oh, she loves it. She's constantly messing with it. And she giggles like a kid on Christmas morning when it talks to us.
