    gettin out of the sport

i have not played paintball in a few monthes, and my gun is collecting dust. i decided that i am going to get out of paintball for a while and focus on other things. i sold most of my stuff, but kept my mask in case i ever want to play a game with a friends gun or somthing. i'll probably get back into it in a few months though. everyone i've heard of that left the sport has always come back as twice the fanatic...

I hear ya there man, but I'm not getting out of it, just toning down my 4 times a week to maybe once or twice a week. I'm starting with the performance mods on my truck :) If I was only getting out of it for a little while, you can bet I wouldn't sell off all my stuff tho.

Just to make you think about stuff:
getting out of paintball can mostly be BAD, only cause you won't be able to shoot people anymore and NOT go to jail.
                also:
i used to be into the car performance/car audio stuff, and i have leared a few things, when it comes to putting stuff into a car, you pay all this cash, and when you wanna sell the car or get out of what you did to it, it will NOT resale worth crap, yer lucky to get half of wat you payed for it. Sterio: 4, 6 1/2" components by Boston Accustics powered by a RF 400 watt 4 channel, then i had 3 12" RF HX2 DVC's powered by an OLD SKEWL RF POWER 1000amp, bridged to push about 1800 watts, 2 caps, all in a little 99 eclipse. But cops didn't like it, it was ALWAYS too loud, and the tickets came, also with the speed, so i found out quickly that it wasn't worth it, but that is just mostly my life, basically i sold my sterio, cost me about $2500 in parts, labor was free my friend did it, but i sold all that stuff for under $1200, YUK, and i even had deals on ALL that stuff, i never pay retail for anything (ex Best Buy employee) but anyhow that is wat payed for my gun now :) so i can't complain to much

at this point in my life I don't make enough money to fund both my automotive and paintball addictions. Besides, all of the fields in my area have closed and 99% of my friends have stopped playing.

I decided that when I was too poor to play, I'd begin reffing. It would at least keep me in contact with the sport that I love so dearly :)

I spent like 3 grand on my car audio stuff years ago, all Eclipse, PPI, Monster Power equipment and stuff, and when I went to sell it all, i got $250 for all of it. Car audio stuff is great when you got tons of money to blow. But as long as you enjoy it. I loved installing it all and learning and having fun with it. I'm not upset about me spending all the money, but It's just frustrating. Why the crappy resale value?? Anyone else have this experience?
