    Computer Trouble

My DVD-rom(G) and CD-RW(D) drives have "dissapeared". When i open up "My Computer" it only lists my
Floppy Drive(A) and Hard Drive(C). Windows XP tells me that it can't use the installed drivers because they are damaged. NOne of the windows drivers work, they instantly have the same problem. I cant reinstall any of the other drivers because they are on a CD and i cant find them on the internet. The manufacturers page only can send me the drivers on CD. Help! Please! I need my cd/dvd drives

Just re-install XP and everything will be back. Do you have a rescue disk? Winblows at its finest!

I can't reinstall windows cause its on a CD. I've made backup disks ever since i got my first computer. Never used them, they were a pain to always make too. As soon as i slack off i need them and the old ones are nowhere to be found. O well...CD's are overrated anyway:o

Just out of curiosity, you said your DVD and CDRW both stopped working, correct? There is a chance that both are on the secondary IDE, and the cable needs to be reseated. Can't hurt to try that.

Reseated as in unplugging and plugging in again. Tried it. But Windows does know they are there, sorta, just can get any drivers to work with them which sorta makes them dissapear from everywhere but the devices list thing.
