    st00pid dad

    Ok here's the story

At first we had one crapy computer and one good one. The crap one was for me and my bro, and the good one for my parents. Year or so latter, after gradually the computer getting all F'd up, it is a peice of crap. Bugs, slow, etc. My dad gets a new computer. (Really only so he can use it, I can't). Anyways, it is eventually crap, with bugs and stuff same as old one. He this time blames it on my games that I played on it. Total BS.

Ok I win a bet, and get a new computer. But in order to use it, I have to maintain getting like all A's And B's. Well, I dindn't, and haven't used my computer for almost a year now. Only person using it is my dad. Now it has the same errors and bugs as all the others.

--I know for a fact, that it will not be his fault when he gets home. He will find a way to blame it one someone else.

Just thought this was kinda funny...All the comps that get in his reach get the same bugs and errors, and it's always some one elses fault, even when the facts are against him. That's some pride, never give up. Even though when theres facts that can make anyone beilive it is him, and none that would raise thought about me and my brother.

any computer, especially running windows, will eventually get full of crap and need to be wiped clean.

i try to do it once a year or so after writing all my important programs, files, and patches to a cd or two.

chances are if you format the HDs for those computers and reinstall windows it will run fine.

    just an idea

Let me get this straight, if you don't mind...

Your Dad buys the computers that you use, so no money or effort comes out of your pocket or sweat glands. He uses it normally, like 90% of the world, and it gets "full of bugs and crap". You are allowed to use the old one, which is apparantely working OK for you and your brother. Although he blames you for using to many games on HIS computer, he still will allow you to have this one if YOU get your grades up. You fail to do so........and your DAD is "stOOpid"?

Hmm...seems to me, you are doing alright by your Dad.

I just wonder if he was stOOpid enough to buy you all your paintball gear too.....

          I think you misunderstood
I meant st00pid not as an insult, but I just thought it was ironic..If I really thought he was a idiot, I would have typed "stupid."

If my dad doesn't want computers, we don't have them. But he wants them and we have them. (2 now, both really outdated..probably onlth worth hundred bucks...nothing big)

I spent my hard earned money on my paintball gun, and paintballs. I work 6/hour for stuff. All my other teammates daddies might pay for them, but mine don't.

As for "my" computer, I could care less, I don't play games much, I just do stuff online.

I was just pointing out how he likes to blam things on other people.

damn. why does whenever I tell a story, it ends up sounding like my parents spoil me, and I don't recognize it and am a whining brat?

If he's the only one using it, how do you know it has the same errors, and before he gets home no less?

Not trying to be a smart-***, just wondering. Also, be glad you have a PC at all (even if you can't use it). I had to wait till I could afford my own before I got one. An 8088 XT! with a 5.25" AND 3.5" floppy! And MONOCHROME!

My brother asked me for the bios password. He was doing school work, just like I do school work on it sometimes. By "using" it I mean downloading things, changing settings, etc. He doesn't know anything about it, so I def. didn't give him the password.

I'm not mad or anything...I'm happy I can still use the internet on the old computer....Oh well..Let's just drop it at this:
My dad likes blaming other people. It is never his fault.

That was my point...but I guess there's more to it then this.

My dad is like that too, except with everything. The computer, tools, cars, just about everything. I can be sick for two weeks and never go outside, but when he goes to work on something and he can't find something as simple as a screwdriver or hammer, he yells at me for losing it. Then I go out and find it for him and it was exactly where he put it last time he used it and he still says that I lost/hid it from him. After that he gets really mad and I start laughing at him. Great fun, great fun.

                      Hey Will,

Well we have a saying in computer geekdom.......isn't the the computer it's the user!

Yes they are correct in stating that if you wipe the drive clean you will get rid of the bugs

It is better to get rid of bugs than to buy a new computer.

My husband is the same way, I hate it when he touches..let's just say my computer! LOL

His problem is he can't have patience to wait 3 seconds for a new screen to pop up, he just keeps clicking on the mouse and the enter button.

Then he gets mad at the computer for not working correctly.

The latest that I found funny was he was trying to get on yahoo games, he had typed in yohao games in the browser.

He couldn't understand why it kept getting him to a different page, then he kept clicking with the mouse and some how made it our homepage.

He was pretty upset at a problem that took 2 second's to fix.

Also being a former pc helpdesk person I have heard them all.

I still get calls from family members to fix their pc's it's like I can never stop being the "helpdesk" I only wish I got paid what I used to!

                      Good luck

                        My computer hates my friend..
Every time he tries to play a game or sign on aim on my comp, it always creates an error. Especially wwhen I dont want heim to use it.

see. i get blamed for leaving tools out. i gt blamed for errors on the computer. i take my fare share of greif for his stuff. i dont mind it. he payed for it all. but. when he gets to yelling at me because HE cant find MY tools, then i get mad and launch the tool at him (not to hard though)
i dont like signatures. so i turned them off. AO is much better this way.

fry-yup! that's howI fixed the ones that got messed up. Defrag, reformat! yea! No clue what it does, I just know it helps. Takes too long, and my mom doesn't like the noice the computer makes (it is in their bedroom) and usually turn it off. I try doing it during the day, some one needs to print something out...etc...

Have you really heard all the stories? My 6th grade teacher once got a call (same job as you) some on complaining their cup holder broke...."What? computers don't have cup holders" the guy replied, yes, when I press this button a tray comes out to put your cup in.."
                            lol
If you don't get it, too bad..
