Re: Hockey rules.
I'm not certain, but I'm don't think it's counted as a goal.Originally posted by AssassN

But the ref or the linemen have to make the call. In which case it could go either way, depending on how they see it.

I have seen it happen before, and it is a goal...
Well it wasnt deliberate, but the puck bounced off the goalpost into a player's skate and back into the goal, it counted....
As far as i know the only time the goal doesnt count is when a skate from the offensive player is in the blue around the goal, and hes not shooting the puck. Then it doesnt count. For instance, i shoot puck it goes in, if ur foot was in the blue crease when it went in, it doesnt count.Comment

Deflections of a skate or leg are ok. The actual rule disallows "a distinct kicking motion". Generally it's up to the officials as to what is "distinct".
Blatent Good Goal:
Player is positioned in front of the net and isn't moving, the puck is shot by another player and deflects off of the 1st players stationary skate into the net. That's a legal goal.
Blatent Bad Goal: Player A is postioned to the side of the net, player B shoots the puck, player A sticks his leg out and kicks it into the net like a soccer ball. That's illegal.
Ref's Call:
Player A is charging at the net, leans to stop and at that second (while his leg is in motion) the puck goes off his skate into the net.Last edited by ShooterJM; 06-17-2002, 01:09 PM.Comment

guys,
last year in the Stanley Cup playoffs...Scott Gomez (NJ Devils) kicked the puck into the goal...teh refs reviewed the goal, and if there is a deliberate kicking motion, the goal is taken away...but if foresay the puck is tapped by someones stick and hits off a players skate...it is ruled as a goal... laterAutomag: $200
