Hey Guys,

Fatman well it isn't an original I saw a tatoo and drew this from memory adding my own techniques.

Spaceman anytime I love Calvin and Hobbes and they aren't that hard to dup, the helmet would need to be stripped and have a basecoat color on it.

All the helmets that I will be doing will have this done, mainly because I don't have the room to have that heavy equipment, compressors and ventilation units.

The clear coat I am also sending out, I am basically doing designs. For that basic design not colored $50 for colored $100.

Heat actually because I have packed up all of my painting equipment I just penciled this one. Micromachines sounds interesting

Well I thought I would post another pic just to show that I have painting ability too.

Fatman I know that you will know this is a "copy" of an original. It is an oil painting I did for my father almost exact specifications as the original.

I really like imitating the originals, I seem to have a knack for it, my favorites are Norman Rockwell, any Disney, Leonardo Da Vinci, Michealangelo, Picasso, Dali, and Escher.

They inspire me a lot. I also do many characters, and portraits of my own.

Just an trihull outboard I fool around on. My buddy is always talking about slapping a freaky skull and cross bones on it. After seeing that helmet I think he might be right.

too funny. my dad used to have a glastron trihull outboard. A friend of mine used to take it out in the summer and spend half the time fixing it on the water. then we'd do "evasive maneuvers" with it, which constituted turning fast enough to get cavitation.
we broke the seats off three times, and then had to rebuild them.

Mine is definitly "vintage". My buddies and I have been skiing, kneeboarding and wakeboarding behind it since the mid eighties. It's never been about having the sweet 40k Natique but rather it's about being on the water with good buds. I sound like Spicoli from Fast Times.

hehehehehehehe.!!! too funny. I feel the same way about boats. as long as they work, and get you out on the water, it doesn't matter what they look like. Although, I wouldn't kick a nautique out of bed for eating crackers, if you know what I mean.

What gear you using?
For airbrush I run an Iwata HP-C as my workhorse. That thing takes it all and never spits. Great gun.
When I want to get finer I'll bust out a Paasche Turbo AB. Truly the 'Cocker of the airbrush industry. Fussy, complicated but when it works it stinkin' works!
For background work I have an Iwata RG-2. Nice little gun. Reliable as all hell and the gravity feed is nice when I only need to cover something the size of... well.. a helmet.
I still have a Paasche VL-3 that I may bust out when I feel nostalgic. I also have a collection of dead Badgers that I sometimes stare at and ponder how I ever sold a T-shirt painted with one of them.

For paint I swear by the Createx Auto Air. The stuff rules! Can be used on anything and still can be tinted with the rest of the Createx line. And still take a clear. How perfect is that?!?!

Just curious to what you're working with. I've been out of the paintin' circles for YEARS now and have no idea of what's new and hot out there.

Hi Guys,

Well Mona wasn't painted in 15 min. that one took me 3 months, a little at a time.


Tl1000s I don't know what exactly I am going to charge, but for something small like Calvin Hobbes that someone just asked me about that would be between $50-100.


The racing helmets along the lines of Troy Lee Designs any where from $200-300 depending on design. Which after looking at his prices is fairly cheap.

Ekul and tl1000s I am going to paint my husband's boat we don't know with what yet, but it has to be something. His needs a lot of work too. My dad had a boat that we called the submarine. It never stayed a float.

BTautomag, I can paint on hoppers but I usually only use them for show. The paint no matter what I use peels off eventually.

I use I know it is going to sound silly in the world of airbrushing....an Aztek by Testors. It has been the most reliable airbrush I have ever used. If it ever breaks you can send it back to Testors and they will fix it or give you a new one.

It is so simple to clean also just pop the nozzle off and put a new one on.

I just bought a bunch of Createx Auto air colors to try out, this will be my first time airbrushing helmets so I guess I'll see how it works out. I have used Dr. Martins airbrush colors in the past, I like the texture of the paint, it is very fluid.
