Reactions to EP 2

What did you all think of Episode 2? Good or bad and state why. Also, your reason for liking it cannot be "Yoda was Cool" i am sorry but thats not a good reason.

I didnt like it, i think the main character did a lot of whining. He did remind me of the emperor in Gladiator(someone else said this) and well, it was named attack of the Clones but as i saw it, the clones fought for 10 mins. Plus does anyone else find it odd how Amidala claims she always loved Anakin, maybe its me but last time she saw him he was like 8 years old. As for anakin, well he had reason to love her, i mean, who wouldnt. Other than that i think the movie lacked a real plot.

lol i said that thing about gladitor emporer that guy just whines and whines and is such a wuss(both of them) i thought it was a great movie besides the whining but waht makes gladiator better is that maximus killed the prick in a completly unfair match

I didn't like it either.

It wasn't a film, it was just a bunch of short sequences bolted together
Anakin Skywalker was terrible, he had one facial expression and one tone of voice. 'I slaughtered them liek animals!!' I laughed out loud.
There were no characters you could identify with, everyone was either, A monk like Jedi, a really bad, bad guy, or comic relief.
The Script was bad, really bad. While the script to the first bunch of movies wasn't much better, the actors were.

Although, to the films credit, I enjoyed the eye candy thourougly, Sam Jackson was a badass... again. also, Clones = Stormtrooper = OMG SO COOL!

I liked first bunch of films are far far better

Reasons I liked Episode II:

the white shirt
the action sequences
the effects
the new equipment
it's Star Wars


I admit, there were some problems with Episode II, but, IMO there were more high points in the movie. Granted, the scenes between Skywalker and Amidala weren't the best in places. But the action sequences were awesome, the effects were great, and the overall story was enough to set the scene for the next movie (which should be much more action packed).

I thought it was alright. I mean...the first hour of it was boring and long and all they did was talk, talk, talk,talk,talk. the last hour or so was pretty good because the fighing and everything. and yes...yoda was cool

First of all, Yoda rule's all. He got so nasty. Just when you thought he was a decrepid old.....whatever he is, he busts out with the skills.

Ok, now for another obvious statement. No movie will ever come close to being as good as episode's 4-6. The lines were cheesy. Some of the fight scenes were kinda bad. The only thing the new movies have over the original's is the light saber fights. The new movies rule in that area, where the original is kind of dull. Now despite having the special f/x, sound f/x, computer editing, yadda yadda yadda........the new series just can't compete with the old. The original series just had that flow to it that made you want to be in the movie. The kind of thing that made star wars a big deal in the first place. The new series, i don't think, could ever come close to that.

Ok, now for just episode 2 itself. Natalie Portman is hot. Yes she is. I especially liked the scene where she got clawed by that monster thing and ripped half her clothes off, made me laugh. Anakin definitely left a lot to be desired, but he wasn't bad. Not saying he was good, but he wasn't bad. Don't forget, he also had some pretty big shoe's to fill(mark hamil-luke). I thought the plot was alright. It did seem to shift kinda roughly. It could have been done better, but again, i dont' think it was bad. The only thing i really don't like was the ending. Just seemed to me that it left to much open. Like the first one closed off most of what the movie was and just left a few things open for the next. This movie left everything pretty much still out in the open. But if you think about it, they did the same thing in episode 5(probably why that's my least favorite of the original 3) so i guess they're just following they're same pattern. All in all, i will be owning this when it comes out on video. One of few movies i wouldn't mind paying 9 bucks to see in the movies again. I really can't wait for episode 3.

I really hated skywalker's acting but when it came down to it, of course he would wine and act like a sissy, he was still a kid and that's why it was easier for him to be swayed by the dark side, he had a lot to wine about, lol.

as for Yoda, I have to say I did yell out loud when I saw him in action but when you think about it, why would he need a light saber, would the emperor need a light saber? I think lucas just threw that in to grasp at a point no one expected. also dooku said (not word for word)"it seems we can not challenge each other in our knowledge of the force, but by our skills with a light saber". The whole reason jedi are so deadly and good with the light sabers is cause they use the force to see like 2-3 seconds into the future.

anybody remember this line from the original trilogy? "But i was going to go to the toshi station to pick up some power converterrrrs!" haha. seems whining is a genetic trait that runs in the skywalker line. i really don't think anakin should have whined as much as he did though. sure his character works well as a spoiled whiny brat but it was just too much.

yoda scares me. little green creatures that move very fast and hop around are scary.

where did R2 get rockets from? where did they go? if he always has them why doesn't he fly around more often?

havoc - yes the emperor would have needed a lightsaber. IF luke had the training needed to counter his force attacks. yoda never did get around to teaching luke all the counters used in episode 2. even obi wan was able to ... well you remember what happened when dooku attacked obi wan with the force. (don't wanna give it away for those who haven't seen the movie) if luke hadn't been so stupid he wouldn't have gotten wrecked so bad by the emperor. oh and seeing into the future isn't the only thing that makes jedi good with lightsabers. it also enhances physical abilities. you really think yoda could do that without the force steroids?
