I felt the ending was suitable for the next episode, or movie. If you think about it, it's showing how everything is falling into place as it shows the Senator Palpatine (soon to be Emperor) with not one, but two massive armies that he is in control of that he will eventually combine most likely to form the Empire. Just showing how the pieces are falling into place really, and also, when he is getting total power of the Republic, he says "I promise to give up my power after this event is over." Lol, just another foreshadow into the already known future.

you really think yoda could do that without the force steroids?
I know about that and don't doubt he could of done it(well he did) but I just think he did'nt need to.

the emperor wouldnt need a light saber("ahh a jedi's weapon") your right, luke was a wimp though.

as for R2's rocket's, there was never any time in ep 4,5,6, where he would have benefited from using them anymore then how he handled certain situations.

        loved it.
but I think I'm the only one who got mad at yoda using a lightsaber. It would take a long time to explain, so I'll just agree with havoc's shortened version of he shouldn't need one.

Mabe its because he had like honor or something and he wanted to beat him fairly. If he came at him with a light sabor and Yoda blew him away that wouldn't seem very "sportsmanlike". So he has to make it a fair fight, the emporer didn't do this because he was evil, therefor he didn't care. So its pretty much if your a good fighter, and someone is coming at you, you don't pull out a gun and shoot them, you fight them...
You smell like dookie... No really though.

are jedi allowed to use their powers directly against people? wouldn't that be a dark side of the force kind of thing to do? the only time i remember seeing a jedi use his powers offensively (besides enhancing his own abilities) is when obi wan pushed some droids over. but those were droids, not people, so i guess they were fair game for force attacks.

No, the Luke used his mind trick power, as did Obi wan a lot, to get what they wanted and to get around The Empire's forces.

that's true but i was thinking more of combat situations. they never told anybody "you want to go jump off a cliff now." or "you feel like going home and shooting yourself" they never actually harmed anyone with their mind tricks. actually they avoided situations where they might hurt somebody.

actually now that i think about it luke did choke and force those pig guards (i forget what they're called) against the wall in jabba's palace. although with the black clothes and all i take it he wasn't in a very stable frame of mind at the time. he was teetering on the edge of joining the dark side all through that episode.

I read something really really cool yesterday:

Apparently, the clone wars was originally supposed to be when a bunch of dudes tried to clone a Jedi, the Force didn't take well to it, so the clones totally flipped out and killed all the other Jedi (excluding Yoda, Obi Wan etc), but they scrapped that for what you saw.

I can't wait for Obi wan to get his lightsaber thang on and hurt Anakin up bigtime! The new film also needs Han Solo who (according to Star Wars: Rebellion/Supremacy in the UK) was an imperial officer until he found Chewwie and they ran away to become smugglers for Jabba teh Hutt. GO HAN YOU CRAZY CORELLIAN HOBO!

                      I liek starwars!

I think it was ironic/stupid how the whole Galactic Empire was giben the "go-ahead" by Jar-Jar. He's the one who gives Palpatine his power.

Jar Jar was manipulated, though. Palpatine used him as a pawn to get those emergency powers so he could take over the galaxy. Chalk it up to inexperience with polititians and manipulation by the force? That's my opinion.
