What kind of job do you have?

I am an Associate Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at a University. I teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in computer engineering and I do research in the design and operation of parallel supercomputers. I am the faculty advisor of the university paintball club and one of its more active members.

I scoop ice cream all day at a local ice cream shop 5 days a week. Starting pay will get you 6.25 an hour plus one free treat and one free drink a day. Not bad for a first job.

I'm working a lot right now including redesigning nashvillepaintballsports.com, PaintballChannel's Factory Team site, Ronn Stern Factory Team, Ninja Paintball (hehe), an gallery for my school's art teacher, and... a personal site for Bill Ashbacker (player on Adrenalin). So yeah, after teamadrenalin.com came out a fair number of people wanted me to do some work for them, so I'm working on getting these out.

Nashville Paintball is almost done except I need the waiver form to post on the site and that'll be finished. It isn't exactly the best job for a kid my age though, because people want the sites by this time, no later (don't blame them) so I have to work really hard after my homework is done, and on the weekends. Rewarding though.

eh, it varies. Large commercial sites can go above $20,000 I've seen, though I haven't seen many statistics for that, nor have I done one. It gets me to play Paintball so it's pretty good. Though working alone as a 15 year old doesn't bring in enough income for a career, though if you work for www.thedesignpeople.com I'm sure you'd make a quite a bit.

in the freelance web business your pay is based almost purely on how much you can sell and how quickly you can turn out products. my current freelance record is $7500 in two and a half weeks but gigs like that are very few and far between.

a corporate web designer can get anywhere from $25,000 to 80,000 depending on their skill level and experience.

yeah it's pretty wicked being freelance. Enjoyable though, your normally much closer with your clients and tend to have better customer service than a company that deals with large corporations with hundreds of e-mails a day, keeping the e-mails short and sweet, never really covering the whole question. My record standing right now is about $2300, though I never have charged what I feel is the full worth...
