I got pwned my my own computer!

Last night, i went and was f'ing around my drivers, and decided to update my Intel -810a 1.21.112 Graphics Chipset (buggiest chipset intel ever released.. and im stuck ewith it) so i couldnt find anything.. so i cancelled it, unknowingly setting the chipset driver to something i didnt have.

This morning when I turned on my computer.. well.. i had no display of windows. I am not fluent in how to change drivers in DOS so I did a sys recover of Windows... it worked, thank the god....

Then Once I booted up i came to realize ALL my installed hardware, and ALL things i installed that wern't there when i bought it.. had to be RECONFIGURED. I spent an hour on hardware and internet connections alone...

Then I came to the realization that all my saved passwords were GONE.. and ontop of taht all my cookies were GONE! That means all my forums, email, sever logins, ftp, all thsoe saved passwords where gone. And on all the forums- they normally give you a defualt password of just random letters. I did not have any (even AO) memorized.

AO is the first forum I have logged into.. still awaiting passwords from the others.

This is not hte first tiem soemthing liek this has happened. One time I was De-fragging my HD and right in the middle of it, the screen saver came on and stoppped the process cold. So i had half of my HD defraged and re-compiled.. and half not. That resulted in nothing being salvageable. That was a full format and reinstall..

    I got hosed.

This is why you should take an image of your computer (roll back software) weekly.
Well, Like a Fat Girl Playing DodgeBall...I'm out.

It's okay to mix peas and corn. But don't call it "porn".

That's why you press "F8" before the "loading MS Windows" text comes up and you can choose safe mode, which would have let you choose the "Standard VGA" video option which would have let you reboot normally and then pick/install the right drivers in normal mode.

                  Vegeta...

Just think... you could get paid to do that all day long just as I do. Of course I fix more users than computers.

Heh, I use stuff like what happened to you as an excuse to format haha.

animal... who do you work for?

I actually used to work as a System's Engineer for a computer consulting firm in West Allis, until I moved out of state.
