Graphic designing help and tips...

I see alot of people that design graphics and have these complex designs and their lines look so perfect and everything, all I have is photoshop and the only way I have figured to make strait shapes is to use the marquee tools, but how do you make shapes and stuff, like synreal, how did you make that graphic S thing, did you draw it with the paintbrush tool? I try and try to make designs with the paintbrush and pen tool but it never seems to come out strait and always looks all wabbaly. Any tips?

I got paint shop pro 7 and can do some wonders with it.

I use PS for much of my graphics as well. You can make straight lines by using the pen tool, + the shift key, pressing shift first and dragging to where you want, releasing the mouse and then releasing the shift key.

For the S thing, make a rectangle, making sure its rasterized (paintbucket and marquee tool) and using the cricle marquee tool to cut away the area you don't wish to exsist, play around with the Select menu and you can accomplish much.

Also, using Image > Adjust > Hue/Sat, you can change the colors much more easily and effective than using a layer.

a little something I did awhile back with the Hue/Sat feature, the image used to be full of red and stuff and instead of tossing on a layer I used that command and voila.

Hey, thanks for the tips, does anyone know how to get fonts to show up in PhotoShop 6. I had no problems with 5 but I am having tons of problems with 6. It dosen't work to just put them in the fonts folder in the windows folder... anyone know where to put them to get them to work in photoshop?

I dunno, that sounds like a photoshop problem to me, you might try uninstalling and installing it again... I haven't noticed a problem, that or the new fonts aren't in alphbetical order and are placed on the bottom of the font list.

is there a way to just DRAW with PS. I gotit, but hace never used it and I'm wantin to learn how to make cool pictures and I figure the best way to learn about it is to start simple, so HOW DO YOU DRAW...thanks you

you can use the pen and use the color palettes.
