Brazil is a good enough champion for now,but in 2006 it's gonna be a debutant champ hopefully from africa or the Americas I'm happy as long as it's far from Europe...hehehehehehehehehehehehehehe

I'd look for south korea to make a huge impact in the next WC, germany will be strong as always and france is an ageing team and i think there going to have to get a youth movement before they will compete for the cup again, maybe 2010 and 2014 for sure. Argentina and brazil will have strong teams like they always do, i think italy will show up in 2006 and i bet senegaul will upset more people as the sport over there is sure to grow out of control within th next 4-8 years. I would expect the USA to reach the finals in one of the next 4 cups and maybe win it, we finally showed the world we can play soccer now its time to show them we can be the best at it too!
Did you here how many people watched the WC? 1.5 BILLION thats a quarter of the world, holy mother of god thats alot of viewers, makes the superbowl look like second rate TV, wow

anyone ever watch "Sports Night" it was on abc for a while... good show, really good writing, anyway heres a quote.

Soccer..the utter pointlessness of a nothing nothing tie
though actually, i kind of like soccer... and its the most popular sport in the world so hey, to each his own. Im donw for watching soccer, but whats up with all of the "dives" every time one guy hits the ground he totally blows it up to make it look like a foul. They grab their ankle and wince in pain, and 30 seconds later they're running all out. If you do that in a hockey game you get 2 minutes, and every one makes fun of you for being a wuss. I don't think professionals playing at the highest level of the most popular sport in the world should have to enhance the contact just to get a call... it seems kind of childish.

              But o well, go brazil.

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

                  deded-

Yeah i remember that show, and i remember that episode. Kinda confused me considering they give much higher billing to much more boring sports. im sorry, but track and field is much less exciting than any other sport i can think of. Running in circles for fun? Hey, at least i chase a ball around, right?

As for the dives...its amazing to watch the difference between certain national teams, brazil is notorious for taking horrid dives to gain whatever advantage. Although this is the refs fault half the time. If every ref could stay more consistent (ha, not bloody likely in any sport) then there wouldn't be nearly as many dives. For those of you who watched practically every game like I did, you can see the teams that have the respect for the game and dont' try and cheat their way to victory, i.e. US, South Korea, Germany. They started to crack down on people taking dives by handing out yellow cards for them, but not nearly enough. Yet another inconsistency. But, for those of you skeptics, watch how much exposure the US national team has EARNED from this world cup, not to mention the respect of every other nation in the world. Especially Portugal . in the mean time, i need to get my tickets for Germany, anybody want to start an AO party overseas for 2006?
