I think it's because the majority of AO are adults. Even alot of the kids here are mature enough to crave music that requires some talent. I am not saying all people who like rap are immature, but many are.

Go to PBC, 9/10 people there are "keepin' it real" and "down with rap".

rap takes skill or everyone could do it, and i dont see jonno06 on def jam any time soon, and lets cut the BS on how rappers arent talented or artists or whatever

just because you hear some song about the ghetto or about whatever and you think it sucks, well that must mean all rap sucks, thats cool, just smack a label on it and call it sucky

there is alot of rap that has meaning, and if you just hear the words that they/(he) is saying then you must not get it

I like music that has INSTURMENTS, a vocalist and not someone talking over a computer generated psuedopop drumbeat. I don't care about the "meaning", I just can't stand rap.

And does the average listener of rape care about the "meaning"? Nope, most just listen to it because they think how cool those guys are in the music video with all their "bling bling".

Once a gain you are wrong and misinformed. That's what you think of people who listen to rap. I personaly like rap alot, but I don't "bling". As a matter of fact most of my friends don't do that either. You are just stating stereotypes of what you think people who listen to rap fit in to.

who says that music is made with instuments that you play? is computer generated sound not music? like it or not it is, and lots of rap is more than just "talking" over a beat, if you think they are talking then you must think bands like korn, limp biskit, kid rock, are doing the same, i mean all those bands are heavily influenced by rap music and they are some of the more popluar ones, and its considered rock music, but is it not talking over rythum(sp)

Cliffio, I don't like those bands at all either. LOL I am into Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, Clapton and alot of blues. Your from Chicago right? So you know about the Lonnie and Ronnie Brooks and alot of the other great Chicago blues talent which I HIGHLY respect.



Not one kid I know who listens to rape, can relate to being poor, living in the ghetto, or anything of that nature. Why do they like it? Because of all the money, women, and the "balla" status. Heck, that is why shows like Cribs are on! Ever see Jay-Z on cribs? Every other word was bling. Seems hiphop is like rap but more underground, and for people who are truely init for the music.
