Then moved from there to House of Pain and did the ethnic rap thing (white-Irish-Muslim rappers...who knew?) In 1992 House did a collaboration with Helmet on the Judgement Night soundtrack (which, I blelieve was one of the first ever pairings of rock artists with rappers)...
Actually the first Rap/rock pairing that was done was a few years before 1992. It was in 1990 when RunDMC and Aerosmith teamed up to do "Walk this way". I may be wrong on the year, but VH1 and MTV have both stated that that was the first time a rap/rock song was done.

It's all about old school rap. I'm no big rap fan but I have no problem with it. In fact old school rap is sometime good. It's always funny to listen to the lyrics and laugh every once and a while. So personally I guess I have no problem with it. I don't see why people make such a big fuss about. However, some rap artists, or should I say self proclaimed rap artists, like Eminem are just horrible. Eminem has absolutely no skill, if it were up me I would tie him to a post and invite everyone from AO to have a shootin day. So in my opinion I have no problem with and I don't see why everyone should be so volitile towards it, but when it comes to Eminem and that crap, just shoot him already.

        Just my opinion.

          i can't stand rap,

yeah it does take talent (i guess) but it's not that hard to come up with some lyrics and say them over a computer generated beat (the beats aren't that hard to do either) i myself as a musician don't see where much talent comes into play here, i mean look at any good Jazz or some rock (not all of it some of it is crap too) there is no doubt these musicians had to work hard and practice to get where they are today.

now the main reason i hate rap is you turn on the TV and you see some guy with all these women and money talking about how he grew up in the ghetto, shot all these people, smoked all this weed, raped all these women, it's not a stero-type turn on the TV and look for your self

(i know not all rap is like this but this is what the majority of it is today)

          ps. Jazz is good

So you're saying you'd rather blast 70s era rock n' roll while driving you 1984 camaro? Personally, I think there's no better music to cruise to than rap. There's something about kill base lines, interesting lyrics, and the BASS, the BASS(I've got 2 RF 12" in my trunk)!!

Just an aside, I think the best rapper right now has to be NAS.

I used to like it, but I can't stand it anymore. If you liek it, then good for you, but personally I do not care for it. Especially the mainstream stuff where every other word is a cuss word and the songs are trash(which I do not like any music with cussing and trash lyrics...period).
I'm into punk, skacore, and hardcore mostly myself, if other people don't like it(and in my town I'd say a good %99.99 of the people listen to rap, or alternative and stuff, and do not like what I like lol) then good for them, its all what you like. I am really into lyrics tho, I like a few bands that I could never see myself listening to it for just the music, but it has awesome lyrics, so I dig it. And I listen to it, and actually get into the song(even if its slow and accoustic with weird computer stuff lol) because I like the lyrics. Then again I can listen to something with stupid lyrics, but great music, and enjoy the song for music, but I can't dig the lyrics, or enjoy the whole song. But for the most point, for me, if its not hard and fast, its not good (FOR THE MOST PART! I can still dig other stuff too, and I find myself getting into new styles all the time).

                ENDO!
