              It didn't turn into crap, just too many people started cheating.

              I started at beta 3 and got out quite a while before they released version 2.

              Back in the early days when people didn't cheat, it was actually quite fun. Oh, some of those early maps were GREAT!

                  me likes dod back in 1.0 days now people hack and the aiming system is only for people with bad aim.

                  i bought retail cs (didnt have my dsl then so d/l it was gunna be difficult) it was good back then until i got good thats when the massive hacks and anti hack crap came out now i only play it occasionally

                      Like alkafluence, i started with Beta 3 and had a blast up until Version 1. I think Beta 5.something was my fav area in CS history.

                      Once folks started cheating and being dinks it went to crap real fast.

                      I still like DOD though. It's a blast setting up camp with an MG42 and mowing down allies.
