I'd just like to add that since I have been in the military I've had 0 tickets. I've been pulled over a couple of times. I think when you have a profession that you put your life on the line for the community, you deserve a little more slack. I'm not saying let all of us to run rampent, but I see no problem in letting a $100 ticket slide for us.

No it's up to the cop who pulled you over. I'd rather see you with a ticket.

Me being a dirtbiker i get my fair share of cops, but its seems to me that the young cops, maybe in their 20's and 30's seem to have their bullet proof vests in a bunch. and the cops that are "seasoned" about 50's are much more cool about it, theyve had kids, and seem to be more "realistic" then the younger ones.

I almost think that the young cops think that they HAVE to "prove" themselves to their fellow officers about some recent duties. But seeing as how i live in a preppy town, dirtbikers seem to be a prime target. sao maybe its just me

I think going over the speed limit is fine. If you are in the middle of nowhere and its a straight away and you are doing 100mph with no cars around the only person you are endangering is yourself. I think it is fine as long as your are driving with traffic and not in and out of it I.E. weaving.

I agree, but it's not so. I work in a warehouose and it's all to common that guys are laughing about getting caught for dwi but the cop just tells them to drive straight home.... BS. And I know that cops do let ppl off ono speeding, but as of right now, if I get pulled over for speeding I know I'm getting a ticket. 29 in a 25, 55 in a 45 and 68 in 45 (which was rather bull because it wasn't mark from where I got off the interstate up to the sign where it was listed as 55, but oh well.

And trust me when they come to my window, the engine is off the keys are on the dash, my hands on the steering wheel. i don't want to threaten them in anyway, they are the ones with the guns, but as I see it right now I intimidate them somehow or they wouldn't be so prone to writing out tickets. In the past 5 years that I've been driving I've been pulled over getting close to 15 times. 3 were for speeding, 5 for window tint, 2 for a missing light bulb in my tail lights, and the rest where without cause. Random traffic stops if you may. And I have proof of this, when you ask an officer why you got pulled over and they say speeding, and they are on dirt bikes without a gun, and to top it off you following a car and have a car following you up then speeding isn't an valid excuse.

I'm just really getting sick of cops. I've had nothing but bad runnings with them. I hear ppl all the time tell me how they got caught doing 100 in a 45 and getting off the hook. I will be a state employee some day... just for hte card and the free tickets. That's the only reason I want that. Does that sound a little like a cheat? Yup it is.

btw. I actually agree with everything that shartly has to say for once.. strange

well.. most police officers are trained to drive at these high speeds, so they have an immunity to this law. I think it is fine that they go over the speed limit 10-20 mph, but once (if) they get over 30 miles over the limit this is not safe, no matter how trained they are.

All cops are different. Some will just give you a warning going 37 over the speed limit. (This happened to someone I know) Some will give you a ticket for only going 20 over in the same place. Some cops are nice, some cops are jerks. Up untill about 5 months ago...Me and freinds use to sleep over another freinds house all the time. Now only one of us at a time We would always sneak out and goto Big Apple to buy MD, or to the Library to talk to the janitor (real cool guy). And at this time of night..There is cops about. We usually meet. Some times they pull up to us, some times we walk up to them and start talking. Usually they are cool and we just talk and they don't care we are out at night. (there is no cerfew ..sp?) We once talked to one cop for a whole hour. Then one night..we get pulled over on the way to Big Apple. We we not walking in single file, which was his just cause for questioning us after pulling over to us. The trouble makers are way at the other side of town...Nothing happens where we were pulled over. He made us give our name, home address, phone number, and age. For not walking in single file...I was like ok and was prepared to leave. Then he gets out his phone. Calls all our parents. Tells them we were trying to cause trouble and being rude....which we weren't. We get in big trouble for trying to buy MD...

Latter we went to tell bob the janitor about this..and he said that the cop had no right doing what he did..He called the cop and a--hole. He knows alot of how the system works and stuff. He said he had no right doing what he did. We latter talked to a cop and he said the same thing..didn't call him what bob did, but suggested that he didn't like the guy who got us in trouble.

Cops are weird. I used to like cops. Now I don't because of this one incident.

Because it was a conspiracy by all cops to have that one cop act rude?

Well I can see your point, I hate all mags cause mine chopped once.

Edit: After furhter consideration your whole story is poo, and here's why. First of you snuck out, meaning to me you're younger than 18. So right there you are wrong. Secondly does your town have a curfue(sp)? I know mine does, so when I snuck out and we saw cops we ran.

So here's the situation, A cop is driving along late at night and sees a group of kids walking down the road. He can tell they are obviously underage and stops to see what they are doing(or cause there is a curfue(sp). So to make sure you guys are safe he calls your parents.

If he didn't call your parents and you guys got hurt he would get in trouble. So he really wasn't trying to be an jerk, he was doing his job and keeping you safe.

No offence but when you get a little older you may see it from a differant prospective.
