What part was this? I don't remember this? Was it when the Pheonix and Gibson thought it was the brothers playing a trick on them so they run around the house, was it that part? I remember the camera going up to the roof but I don't remember seeing the alien.. I guess the whole skin changing thing.

Anywayy, my opinion on the movie. It did not live up to its hype. Period. I think the only movie that DID this year was Lord of the Rings. But anyway, I LOVE scary movies and they usually scare the **** out of me, but this one did not. I did not jump once and the only time I jerked (not jumped, jerked) is when the damn dog barked.. It was so loud, i was sitting next to a speaker And when that part happened, it had been quiet for several seconds.

Yah so I did not really like it. I thought it had great characters, GREAT camerawork, good, creepy music (opening credits were good..I mean, people in the theatre were screaming during the freaking credits! I mean c'mon! All hype! .. kinda like paintball? ) It had good actors.. Mel Gibson did a great job and that Pheonix guy is brilliant. I think he is hilarious and a great actor! He has a very bright future!

It had a good storyline, but i would NOT put it on my favorites list. I didn't even think it was THAT suspensful.. I think that the Michael movie was more suspensful than this. I really liked that Halloween movie Pretty cool. Ah well... It was a good movie, but yah.. I didn't like it too much.

Anyway what was up w/ the alien in the pantry? So he cut off his fingers...then what? Kinda open-ended.. I HATE THAT! I think the movie would have been a TON better and a lot scarier if they would have been more cornfield scenes. They did one or two, but they should have had the whole family separated, lost in the cornfields at night. That would have been scary. Maybe if they showed the outline of an alien but he was camoflaged in with the corn. (Did they do that and I missed it??)

Anyway, what do you guys think?


Edit: BTW, i dont think i gave anyway anything..But if someone hasn't seen this movie and they go INTO a thread called "Signs," what are they expecting? I mean c'mon..It's their decision. If you haven't seen the movie then go see it and then you can come in

i just watched it on my comp alone in my basement at midnight with all the lights off, i could see how it wouldnt be scary in a theater but damn im freaked out right now, i agree with dcmander, needed more corn scenes, those were the best.

Just as I expected, this was an absolutely terrific movie. I cannot throw enough accolades out for it. The movies this guy makes defy conventional thinking and have a genre all their own.

Without spoiling it, I will say what I enjoyed most was the way it jumped back and forth between terrifying and funny. Just when your heart was about to leave the theater without you, you'd laugh.

I give this film 4.5 out of 5 Ninjas

That was when he was talking to his daughter and looked out of the window. The alien was standing on the roof of the barn.

That was the same alien at the end of the movie. The camera zoomed in on his hand and shoed the missing fingers. They even flashed back to the pantry scene when Mel saw those missing fingers. I thought it was pretty obvious it was the same alien.

Remember the location of the blood stain on M.Knights character? Now think back to the way that same alien was holding the boy at the end. Good thing he lost those fingers eh?

Gotta love this guys movies. He just forces you to pay very close attention to everything.

I know, I'm sure it was. I wasn't paying the best attention. I just got off a 9hour shift and we saw the movie at 10:45 I'll probably go see it again and pay closer attention.

I'm going to through my two cents in here...

First a little personal background (this is for real, no jokes here). The beautiful, gorgeous girl in the soda commercial....That's my girlfriend.

So, I got to go to the private screening of Signs the week before it was released to the public. Great experience. The screening was for cast and crew (with guest) only. It was amazing to hear al the folks talk about working on the sets, production and editing.

My take on the movie:

Did not live up to the hype. All of the marketing made the public think this was going to be an "alien suspense type" movie. I think M. Night (writer\director) did a very good job with the movie. Left you thinking. I give it a 3.75 stars outta 5. I hopped online yesterday for a live webcast with M. Night, very down to earth guy, and all of the questions and comments were positive about the movie. Can't wait for his next venture!

He was talking to his daughther and then looked through the window and saw the alien and flew up to his feet and ran to get his brother awake, because he lived in the barn that the alien was on.

Oh ok.. I think I was asleep during that part. Two 6 hour shifts...

So why did he act like it was just the kids..? Was he just denying the fact that he saw an alien or did he not know he saw an alien? Arg... I'm gonna have to see this damn movie again, and this time, not at 10:45pm after full day of work

He saw a human like shaped thing. Remember they can change their skin color, so during the night they turned black, but he saw it while it was in its green fase. He saw it and got to his feet and said to his brother one of the "someone brothers" is on the roof.
