why do you guys hate reading so much lol. i'm the biggest slacker in my entire grade (i don't do ANY homework all year and yet still do better than half the class lol) and i used to (and still do) read so much it killed my eyes and i need contacts now! (i'm sure reading in low light wasn't the only reason for my eyesight tho)

but if you guys want to read some killer books (sorry for the pun lol) read these:

Rainbow Six- by tom clancy. incredibly long but a great read
Red Storm Rising- very cool book that shows what could have happend had the cold war escalated

      anything by dale brown.
and for that matter, anything by tom clancy!

Having had for years of high school experience and gotten through with a 3.5 gpa and taking all the honors and ap classes and having to do a lot of reading I know how to get by without actually doing all of it. Either go to spark notes or pinkmonkey.com. Almost all the books you guys mentioned are listed on these sites with full sumaries and analysis. The only ones that aren't on ther are Ismael and The Hot Zone but those to books I would strongly recomend reading.

3 things are your friend for required reading:

            Sparknotes
            Monarch Notes
            Cliff Notes

Disclaimer: To be "PC" I have to say that you should actually read the books you're assigned, but if it comes down to improving your grade beyond that, digest these carefully and you will go far, grasshoppa!!!

I'm not under the alkafluence of inkahol that some thinkle peep I am. It's just the drunker I sit here the longer I get...

Sounds just like me. I am in all honors and ap classes and have a 3.6 gpa (my finals dropped my gpa .1) We do so much reading. I spend long hours reading sparknotes.

we had a "mandatory" reading list last year and all the books sucked they were crap like "billy is dealing with his dad coming out of the closet" and junk like "a good read about girly fluff crap"(no other words to describe it)

and then i accualy find a book i could read in it(the rock says ) and then i just did a book i read a while back and added a book to the list. i hand it in the book reports for them and i only saw 2 other reports on the table! and then they said it wasnt mandatory

ONLY 750!!!! BE GLAD!!!!! I just started school again in July, and by the end of September I have to have read all 3 volumes of my Atlas of Radiographic Positions and Procedures (each volume is 500+ pages), as well as Gray's Anatomy (2000+ pages), Fundamentals of Imaging Physics and Radiobiology (290pgs), and Principles of Radiographic Imaging (275 pgs)so if I were you I wouldn't be griping, about David Copperfield and 750 pages of boredom. At least that could be found on Cliff's notes(get the hint). so look at it this way, you got off easy, you could have over 4000 pages of reading to cover like some of us do.

                      Of Mice and Men
                      Outsiders
                      The Good Earth
                      The Little Prince

These are the books I read this summer. For my own enjoyment.

Art of War (for the 5th time)
The Prince (for the 7th time (real thin essay)
                            The Republic
                            Dialoges concerning Natural Relegion
lastly, An Essay Concerning Principles and Morals

Only on of the above is an actually book, and even then it isn't.

Yes I know I am a geek hehe.

what's up with this summer reading?

I've never even heard of summer reading before... what the heck! Summer break is supposed to be a break from school, if they give you assignments then that is a bunch of BULLCRAP!

If I had it I would be so pissed!... luckily I don't!

I'm not sure, but I don't think I have to read much of anything this year... senior in highschool, here's my schedule:

1st and 2nd: College automotive class (yay Shop!)

3rd: Louis L'amour literary class (meets 5 times!)

4th: College English 2 (teacher said it is going to be easier than College English 1 which I have already taken)

5th: Online Calculus (might possibly be a pass/fail class!)

6th: Government (super easy... take notes teacher writes on board, don't listen to her... A+ easy!)

                                7th: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
                                My Feedback
