Did you know that the guy who operates that puppet is a total loon? Remember when NBC was having that special a few months ago about how great their shows were? 75 years of must see tv or some such nonsense I think it was called. Anyway, the producers wanted Alf to be in the audience with all the other stars, but the Alf guy wanted this elaborate setup and contraption made up in the audience so NO ONE, not even the cast and crew could see that he was operating a puppet. He wants everyone to think Alf is real.
