i needed an ethernet dsl modem, so i called bellsouth and asked them how much it was to upgrade from dsl. they said 125 and i said ok and hung up. two days later theres an ethernet modem on my doorstep. there was no price on the bill inside the package, and i didnt give anyone a credit card, address phone number or name, so im pretty sure its free. yeeeeeeeehawwwwww

there was a kinda bill in the box, it had my dads name and all the stuff that came in the box like the filters and the modem and cables, but there was no price at all. i think they just gave me a refurbished one for free.

ya dude ur gonna get charged, we moved to our new house and my mom called Southwestern bell 2days later we have the package at our house, and we told them we didnt want it yet. Best bet is call them and ask them or just send it back.

I have bellsouth ADSL, the way it works is... you don't pay for the modem as long as you keep the ADSL for one year. If you cancel anytime during that one year you have to pay full price (100$) for an unuseable 3com Bellsouth adsl modem. It can only be used with bellsouth I'm in the same boat but I've had it for 13 months Mine was free, and your parents are gonna find a $40 a month charge on all their phone bills for Your ADSL. Did you even talk this over with your parents or are you one of those kids who just leaps on things not thinking of repercussion?
