    Kazaa is Spyware

Okay...I just found out through a friend that Kazaa is a bad thing to have on your computer. It has been proven that it sends out packets and uses processing power...more info from this website:

There are other options to file sharing programs:

    WinMX (www.winmx.com)

    Gnucleus (www.gnucleus.com)

Hopefully this bit of information helps out!

ive used kazaa for over a year and have had no problems with it or my computer. it is the best file sharing program i have ever used. and i read on that site and its just saying alot of technical stuff and people share files on your computer that you select and you can even block that. its nothing to make me want to ever stop using kazaa

          Yeah, Kazaa lite rules!

Same easy to use format as Kazaa without evil spyware.

cnet had directions on removing the spyware from Kazaa 1.7.1, but I couldn't find them. I think I deleted everything all of it off my comp. Today I downloaded "Diet Kazaa" which, "...blocks advertisements, pop-ups, removes annoying buttons, etc.," plus some other cool stuff. It's worked great, so far. Only problem is in the "Traffic" screen. The highlight on a specific file will move to another file and highlight that, then move back. Strange, but what it does makes up for that minor annoyance.

hmmm... no wonder i couldn't find out where all these adware and spyware problems were coming from. I knew there were some on my computer and I took care of a lot of them but I completely forgot about kazaa.... Oh well, time to uninstall and clear out kazaa for kazaa lite. Or maybe I can give win mx another try...

If your worried about Spyware. DL Adaware and run it a couple of times. I don't remember the website, but it scans your computer for spyware.

When I ran Adware it deletes all the Spyware stuff, and makes Kazaa error prone and useless. I don't find the ads that bad, only every 15 minutes or so one will come up when Kazaa is running, I get what I want, then close that crap program. Isn't it illegal to put Spyware on a user's computer?

Okay I installed ICQ lite and it makes no difference, getting the same thing.

No its not illegal for Kazaa to put spyware on your computer because you agreed to it in the Agreement you probably didn't read when u installed.

Dont worry, i never read them either....
