im getting a new board for this year, and i have it down to 2. k2 Zeplin or GNU danny kass. i have a GNU now and have had goos luck with it, so thats why i am considering another GNU. and the k2 is a real nice board. prices are about the same. waht one would you pick any why?

hmmmmmm. Im not a gnu fan. the danny kass is really nice tho. Personally, i ride a burton powers (favorite rider, even before the olympics) with ride ex bindings. ITs one hella nice board, also prolly around the same price. His new model (olympic one) is supposed to be even nicer.

I was never impressed with k 2. There are better, less hyped brands out there. Check into forum, and lib tech. there really nice too. Also, dont for get palmers. And burton has a whole slew of new free ride boards out. What type o riding do you do? are you a park guy or a trail guy. Im more of a park guy, but i like the trails too, the powers is great for both.

i ride a powers too, ive never really like k2 boards. I love my burton except only thing i dont like about my board is the quality of the top coat. It scratches and chunks come out really easily. If uve riden a GNU board before i would say stick with the company. The kass board is probly real nice any way...

Ill bottle some snow and send it to ya when it comes. I live In upstate NY, which means in a little less than 2 months it should be here.

Ive got a custom 160, which is a nice board. Its 3 years old which means it has the older construction which I prefer. GNU and Lib Tech are fantastic boards. Its all preference

YES!! Amen to old school! for my first 4 years of boarding i used at burton 142 twin! haha old boards are great. I got rid of it for a powers when i broke it. Such a great board, although it was a little bit on the heavy end lol

wow 3 powers in one thread? lol which model do you have? i have last years with the bloody head dealy goin on.... yea the top coat was pretty crappy, but the board is great, that damn top coat doesnt really matter. I totally love my board. olny thing i would trade it for would be a new powers. The custom is a really nice board! i used to have a charger, then a floater, now my powers. love em all! MAke sure to check out lib tech too! ive ridden my friends lib and my others forum, cant say i didnt like em, altho the slider system is a bit wierd. Plus forums carry a 3 year warenty

lol magman i missed the 3rd powers... ne way i got the model where the top is dark blue with green things comming up that look like flames but there really treetops... i think its the 2000 powers.. and i use custom bindings and who knows what boots lol...

dude u guys are all riding like 160's. i ride a 135 and i am very short... looks are decieving though. i rip up those slopes. i have been riding for 3 years now and i cant wait till boarding season. i ride mostly freestyle, pulled a 360 mute last year, and im lookin into a new board, maybe like a 140 or so. wat should i get?

Problem is im 6'3. 160 barley makes my chest, and i have toe drag like you wouldnt believe. But I got some low profile boots to help that! My 14's have as much drag as my 12's.. pretty tight set up..

I kinda suck at snowbaording, its my 4th year too! I quit for a while after a broken rib on a rail. Never got interested in doing tricks after that. Now I hope to get back in the swing and play catch up :)

its always good to have something that looks good, and trust me the board isnt the only thing that looks good when i snowboard... My tricks look good too. I think this is my 4th year and i be doin flips and crazy spining this year. Also i dont just ride for tricks. i do alot of back country and just riding for speed and carving. I am probly one of the best all around boarders in my area but i love it and thats why i do it. I dont really care about looks after riding a 142 twin for a few years... The board looked like a freakin chick board lol.

ive looked at burtons but K2 bindings and a burton board dont mix too well..

im also like 6ft, a 163 fits me perfect, but its too damn big and heavy, so id settle for a 159

ronron, if uve riden a GNU before and liked it u will probably like the kass GNU because your used to the GNU style boards. Thats how it was for my powers. Burton to Burton was a great switch for me because i was already used to the style of burton boards.

dubstar.. get gaspedals.. they lift up the front of your toes so you have like no drag. my bro has them

I know what they are, they came attatched to my bindings, I had to cut them off because they hung off the edge. I know how to mount bindings on center and what not so I knew what I was doing. My board is only like 23 or 24 cm wide. With large bindings to accomodate my feet its tight.
