I rented the game last week, and I must say it was rather enjoyable. There are several pros from a hardcore gamers standpoint, like the awesome cinematic scenes when you kung-fu style disarm a person of their weapon. The 1 thumbstick movement is really easy to get used to, and people's complaining about the camera angles must not be coordinated enough to move both thumbs at the same time.
Now, onto the cons. A lot of boss battles are fought hand to hand, with no weapons. And usually the boss has some sort of advantage over you that you are supposed to overcome, and until you become good at fighting hand to hand, these battles will become long and tedious (My personal favorite method is to not knock a boss to the ground using a combo attack, instead just punching him about 3 times and then backing off for a second and returning to punching him. For some reason the AI doesn't reset the defense of the enemy this way, and he will almost always never block your next shots). Also, if you CANNOT handle dying and trying again and learning from your mistakes, this is not a game for you. Seriously I must've died over 20 times trying to clear certain areas, at least the game checkpoints you a lot so you don't have to do entire levels over again.
Overall I think it is a good game, cinema scenes aren't very smooth or glamorous, but the action is fast, awesome looking, and violent (blood can be turned off for all of those that think that video games are breeding an army of super soldiers). However, due to its shortness, and the fact that there is only 1 difficulty setting (thats why the game is so hard in the first place), it lacks replay value other than seeing the awesome disarm scenes. I think this game is something that everyone should at least rent, but hold off on buying until you can see it for yourself.
