its a heat seaking missle defense system. If the plane is being chased by a heat seaking missle, the plane will release chaff (i believe this is for radar missles, not sure) and/or flares so that the missle follows those instead of the plane.

They were probably testing or demonstration the system in that vid.

It was some sort of 130 releasing it's flares.

rhetor22 you are absolutly correct, chaff is for radar guided missles and flares are for heat seekers.

I personally love the B-52 dropping it's bombs. That is one of the best demoralizing things the USAF can, round the clock bombing runs with the BUF's(Big Ugly ******).

During the Gulf War Iraques(sp) would surrender cause they heard them coming. Even though it was only F-16's flying near them.

I have the sequel to that video but it's not apropriate for the boards. It's corus is "Die mother ______,Die mother ______, Die". It has some more clips of the military blowing stuff up. Also it has more of the other branches stuff in it. Taliban Bodies has alot of USAF in it... and righfully so we blow suff up the best.

I personally loved the Hornet flying upside down above the Tomcat in the opening. I also remember seeing vids of the Iraqis surrendering, but instead of F-18s it was helicopters. Haha poor Iraqi soldiers. By the way did I mention the Bush admin. has no idea what they're doing about Iraq? Not to be anit-govt. cause I most certainly am not, but, from a kid that knows a bit about the military I think the Bush admin. is going about everything the wrong way. Anyone else agree? I think we should send in the U.N inspectors and if he kills them, THEN we send in Desert Storm II, not before. Just my two cents.

Remington, one militarily-minded kid to another, did it occur to you that Saddam is agreeing to inspections because he sees it as tactically advantageous, and not because he's having some sudden conscious attack? If Saddam is agreeing to inspections, it's not because he has nothing to hide, it's because he no longer feels it necessary to hide it.

With that assumption it's actually a pretty slick move - Saddam prevents his own destruction by agreeing to our demands, knowing that it will take months, at least, for UN inspectors to do us any good. He leaves the American war-hawks without a political leg to stand on, so even if we do still attack, it's not a popular decision.

And if we don't attack? Saddam takes those months he bought by caving to UN demands, and uses them to carry out whatever exactly it is that he has spent the decade since the Gulf War planning, be it a terrorist attack, an invasion, a holdup with weapons of mass destruction, or what have you.

Europe, for all its opinions, doesn't exactly have the best history of knowing when enough is enough. Hitler defied resolutions made in the Versailles Treaty, and wasn't attacked until he had doubled (at least) the size of his country and raised an Army capable of effortlessly taking on the entirety of Europe (thank God for his inane decision to invade Russia). Milosevic was slaughtering people in droves within a few hundred miles of London and Berlin. Can you draw your own analogies from that? Because Saddam has the most powerful Army in the Middle East (except maybe Israel), has invaded his neighbors in the past, and has used chemical weapons against his own people.

He listened to our demands for a while after we stamped his army to the ground, then turned a deaf ear when it no longer suited him. Now, it suits him once again. Do we want to wait to find out why, or should we maybe just play the game on our terms, and shoot first and ask questions later?

Okay, this wasn't meant as a flame in any way. I respect your opinion (though the UN inspectors may not like that "if he kills them" part ), but I'd also like to change it match mine if possible.

Didn't mean to turn this into a political thread either . Havoc I've gotta agree with you on all counts - that was one of the coolest things I've ever seen, and although the song is normally "OK", it absolutely rocks in that context. Anybody else have the smile plastered on their face interupted and their eyes go really wide, then the smile come back even bigger when that 130 set off its countermeasures? That was just an awesome video.
