ti-89 people?

is ti89 really much different from 83?

btw, my TI83 says error in xmit when i try to recieve something through link cable, some help. I need to be able to do this for stat class.

Our chem teacher doesn't let us use the TI-83 Silver Editions cause they have the periodic table on them lol.

She also clears all our programs..even our games ... biatch..

dcmander, there are ways of getting around that, but i do agree they shouldn't allow you to use them. Its just to easy to cheat.

Well I don't have time to look for the progs for the ti but i will post them up tonight for yeah, what it does is makes the programs invisible and you can only see them through this prog, or make them visible again through this prog.

People from my graduating year kept telling me that the only reason they passed was because of that calculator and the programs I made for it

dcmander, get mirageos for your calculator. Mirageos is basically the best shell for ti-83. It comes with a host of options and features that you can used. If you hit pgrm you hide programs, if you go to options by pressing alpha you can lock off your memory bank completely until you unock it.

Heh.. I used to have Mirage OS on my old calculator..before it got ripped off (High school is crazy now days...Put your TI on top of your locker, turn to say 'Hi' to someone for 15sec, look back and it's gone )

Yah, MirageOS all calc games was a big fad at my highschool sophomore year.. It's not so big anymore.

I'm just gonna keep my new TI83+ clean though. No Mirage, no games. Just school. I'm going for a 4.3 this year.

Sorry if i gave the wrong impression, but I DON'T CHEAT, AND DONT PLAN TOO. SO I wans't asking for ways to get around the calc check and/or programs to help me get better grades on my chem tests Even though I think I just afiled the one yesterday.

So don't bother posting up programs.. I won't use them. I can get 4.0 w/o cheating

All through high school, I'd use my 89 to the max. When I got to college, they wouldn't let us use any calculator on exams, for any math class. (From Calc 1 up to however high it gets). So, now that I'm done with math for a while, I use it in all my other classes. I always lose points though, cause I won't show all my work on the paper. It's mostly a good way to check your answers.

First of all, make sure the TI 83 is on, and on the main screen (where you type in problems and stuf) Make sure the cable is fully connected, and you have the right drivers installed. Then open up whatever program you use and it should work..
