At my school, they taught us to use Solidworks. I've used Autocad plenty, and I like Solidworks better. Only problem is, everyone uses Autocad.

I've used it occasionally, but I wouldn't claim to be good at it or anything. Pretty much all I have to use at work now is Excel and modeling programs.

Well... If your just curious who can use AutoCad ...

Count me in... Useing it is how I pay "Da Bills", and how I can afford to keep paint in the hopper...

I pimp myself as a CAD designer for a few different small Architectual & Consulting Firms...

I used to work Autocad back at Uni and when I was working on my patent drawings. It's great for 2D stuff.

Gimp, Solid works is a great system to learn and use.

I now work with 'Tebis' but deal with customers using all systems from Pro E to Catia.

Berner, I think if you want to make your own body you will need to make your own measurements. The extreme dimenions are not out for the general public at the moment.

I use it to support my Paintball and Motocross habits. Ive been using for 9 years now. Pretty proficient in Lisp & ObjectARX compilation as well. I work in a structural design field but my love is 3D mechanical design. That where mechanical desktop and 3D studio take over. But its all still fun.

I've used AutoCad before, like manike said it is good for 2D drawings. I currently use Pro Engineer. Other products used Solid Designer, ME10, Solidworks, Pro Desktop, Cadkey, Generic CADD.

I am starting to use Autocad 2002 right now in Engineering. We are also using Mechanical Desktop.

After we learned the basics I dove right in and started on my exteme body.
