    FR/DH MTB'ers need advice.

Ok, well, I got into mt biking because I used to ride those silly little bmx dirt bikes(I had a specialized vegas tj). So I bought a Kona blast, a XC bike with decent starter parts. Well, the thing is, it didnt take me long to go back to my 'roots' and hit the jumps at the skate park, and dirt jumps. Ive destroyed this bike. The rims, and rear deraileur are mangled.. Due to some hard crashes I also broke the crank arm with in 3 weeks of the purchase WARRANTY!!

So, Ive been looking into a dually, with some heavy duty parts. So far the Big Hit Comp has stuck into my head. Maybe an Enduro, but I'd prefer the availible size of the Big Hit(Im 6'3, 175 lbs ). What other brands do you reccomend? So far Ive test ridden treks, gt's, and a Stinky Dee-lux(Kona), and the Big Hit(specialized). Like I said, the big hit was the only thing my taste. K2, and cannondale are not a possibility. If you have a dh/fr bike post a pic, so I can look at some different set ups.

Good to know that somone of Tom's status seeks "relief" from a sport he helped create. A sport now ruled by a single patent.

Hrm, price is sort of a factor. Looking to spend upto around 1500. I see that most of them bikes there are only availible in one size. again, im a larger build (19- 20 inch frame is perfect)

This is what I dearly want. Almost 3k. There is a model that is '03, for around 1k. Severely downgraded componets. But thats why I have time on my hands

1500 eh...hmm....that's kind of pushing it for a decent freeride bike. Read some magazines, look at some downhill/freeride website retailers see what they have. www.kalomtb.com is one that comes to mind. If you're looking for a frame I have a Giant DH frame for sale sitting in my garage, it's an 18" with 6" of rear travel easily upgraded to 8". Let me know. Just read around, see what looks good to you.

          Bad Traders: None yet!

Paintball is just tag at 300fps!
