    Question for Webby

    Webby,
I was just wondering what you were using to run the forums with? (As in - what kind of database?)

    Thanks

Vbulletin is the forum software used at automags.org. Its a PHP based software that interfaces with a mSQL, or mySQL database. I believe their are a few conversions out there now that allow it to work with Access, and Oracle databases, but most people run it in the mSQL unix environment due to the speed increase.

"it constantly leaked from the 3 way. I bought all new pneumatics and the leak just moved. I sat down and looked over Ravi's cocker site and messed with it and it still did'nt work right. I took it to a local "cocker expert and it worked ok until I got it home. Needless to say I have never had the urge to throw something off a cliff more." - Load SM5 on owning an Autococker

Ender got it right...we are on a linux box with SQL and PHP.

Pretty good software - 10x more powerful than UBB - but more complicated to set up and get running. But much more secure too! So basically I now depend on Rich for alot of the back end (of delaware.net) and I run the Admin stuff.

Problems or questions with the site or your account? Email me: [email protected] I collect old guns and paintball gear. Email me if you have stuff to sell!
