    wow Tom is into cars

    its time to celebrate

Well, one of these days, I'll have to bring my honda down to one of the AO meets and meet all of you great guys (and gals)

And maybe find a local track and get some racing in :)

Well just so you guys know.... you can make a honda fast...

typically, most riceburners are getting wheel-horsepower of around 60-150 horsepower at the most.

Truthfully, I/H/E just turns the car loud with little gains, like 4 horsepower at the max usually.

These people need to get some real tuning, like programmable engine management units, cams, pistons, and stop with the "lazy tuning"

and it seems they always at best, put nitrous

They should really tune their car... You'd be surpised what you can get out of a honda engine. I've seen natural aspiration set-ups on 2.0 litre inline-4's go over 300 horsepower, no turbo, no nitrous, just about.... lets say... 12,000 rpm making peak horsepower

joker, you'd be surprised what a civic can do.... www.todaracing.com

        Mustangs Rule

i hear you man, i got a six cylinder everday driving mustang as well, though ive probably gone a little bit past half of your list, the only thing missing is the supercharger, and the boring. . .i do alright tho, got it down to 14.5 secs on the quarter mile. . . but what i hate is the sound of the stupid muffler. . . i think that gets everybody, thats why, i just got a (1964 1/2) Mustang, and dropped a 302 engine block on it, performance headers, racing mufflers, and on the way is a really shiny, and most importantly powerful blower, its going to pop up straight out of the hood, and its purpose, to run 9's in the quarter mile, but really too just silence the hell out of those annoying little things under the rice burners that pass as a pathetic excuse as a muffler . . inthis car, i wont go fast on the road, ill creep up next to them, rev my 302 block at them, and make thier girlfriends want to come with me

It's the same kind of thing here in Brisbane, I drive a Holden Ute, the equiv of US SUV's I think, It's a styleside, 304ci (5.0L) V8. I've only done minor mods, like Filter, intake and exhaust. Pulls about 180hp @ rear wheels, nothing to brag about, but like everyone else, it goes alright. The filter tho, sounds like it's trying to suck in little kids and little old ladies. Some people think it's a supercharger whining away. hehehe

Anyway, I'll get these guys pull up next to me at a set of lights, with a car load of mates think they're all that. They've got the bodykit, exhaust and a stereo that everyone within a 2 block radius can hear. He'll give his throttle a bit of a tickle and creep forward, I'll leave the stick in D (yeah it's an auto) keep my foot on the brake and tap the accelerator a couple of times, sending the tail of the ute at about a 45-degree angle to the lane. They either sink down in their seat or still wanna rumble, in most cases when the light turns green they'll dump their clutch, spin the wheels, I'll stall up and take off with little to traction loss, and when second gear comes along, quickly take my foot off the gas, then stomp it straight on again, and torque slide the ute into the next lane. Just for laughs.

I do get beaten a bit, but then my engine's basically stock.

Why is the air scoop offset like that? I know on my TC and the old SVO's the intercooler sits on that side. What is there on the new mustangs?

I don't think it is a "new" Stang thing. His is newer than mine, but you are correct, that is the side where the MAF Sensor and other air "stuff" is. It may be for a CAI? I also know that they put an air intake below the bumper on that side as well for certain applications.

1 question i saw at the top that you wanted to turn your stang in to a sleeper. how can you say that muscle cars can not be called sleepers and the last time i checked stangs were in the same category as cameros, corvettes and vipers which makes in a muscle car or sports car as they call them now a days.
