Photoshopped Fades/Anno/Coats

Hey everyone.

I've been toying with the idea of getting my RT Pro Powder-coated, or Annodized. Anyway, i wanted to figure out how it would look, before I actually go out and have it done.

I've seen people "fake" fades and whatnot using Photoshop, and I'd like a little bit of help with it.

Here's the Image i'm using, I hope AngelGuy.com doesn't mind

ANyway, if someone could do a blue on everything black, except the mainbody, that'd be great.

What would be even BETTER is if someone showed me how do do this, so that I can play around with funky colors and whatnot without taking up other people's time.

I've done a search, and haven't come up with anything really solid, so I'm asking here.

photoshop real quick and dirty

Easiest way to do this (not very clean, but easiest)
1. Use the Magic wand to select the parts, if you don't get say the whole barrel, hold shift and click on the part of the barrel not selected.

2. Use the paint bucket tool to fill the part with the color you want.

How to do it? First step is getting a good program like PSP or Photoshop. Select what you want to color change with the selecting tools (Magic wand will work good simetimes, other times you will have to do it manualy if there are other similar colors near) and then just do adjust>Color balance .. volia.

Well Shartley, just for reference of what my E-Mag is going to look like. Could you do a nice Red to Black fade on that hoss.

A nice deep red...mmmm

That's exactly what I want to toy with, but I just don't know how to do it.

I have quite a few Ideas, perhaps painting the mainbody, and leaving the site/forgrip rails raw, etc...

I just REALLY would like to dink around with it myself, could you show me how to do that?
