Want to really blow your mind with this? "Cut out" the A or B square and slide it back and forth with your mouse. It seems to CHANGE SHADE as you move it around...

Its the green that throws your eyes off.. forget photoshop, just cover the green on your screen with your hand and let your eyes refocus...

works for me anyway.

another trick: Stare at something blue for a bit... then quickly move your eyes to a white wall... you'll see an orange outline of the same object. works with all bright colors, you always see the opposite color from the color wheel.

See this is what you learn about in design school. Its called "gestaults". Its how colors and shapes are effected by thier surronding colors and shapes. If you take any color and put it on a different contrasting back ground, it will have a different appearence. Some color combinations and uses will have much more dramatic differences, as you can see here.

That's what I would have said if I had remembered what my professor called it... I remember all the concepts... but the details are forgotten the minute the last exam is over..
