How To Get House Paint Off Of Car Paint???????

ok i just bought my first car and there was a fun catch. i got it for 350$ BUT there is a giant unicorn painted on the front hood... i dont want to damage the car paint but i really dont want a unicorn on the car paint either. i saw 3 peoplein front of my house yesterday just cracking up. i really dont want this to happen while im driving for my saftey and others.

If it's done with house paint you could use mineral spirits or varsol. They won't harm automotive finishes, but be prepared to put some elbow into it.

Go to your local hobby shop and purchase some model engine fuel. It is alcohol based and will take that paint right off while leaving the clearcoat on. It really works! I had to use it on my Stang and it did not touch the factory paint, just the excess paint over the clear.

Ok here is a question, what type of paint was used. I mean oil based, or water based. If water based you are in luck. There are thousands of things out there that will take it off and shouldn't go through your clear coat or you car paint (which i am not sure but think is oil based). Anyways when I have to strip a miniature or whatever I have to paint I use the following stuff and it all works. Non Acetone (finger nail polish remover), brake fluid, Easy off over cleaner, purple cleaner, white wall tire cleaner, the list goes on and on.

Now you might what to try this out on an unnoticeable area first to see what will happen. you will have to live it on for a little while for it to work.

I would try the white wall cleaner first for it seems mild enough to work.

Caution, I never tried these on a car, I am not sure if they will take the car paint off that is why it would be good to test on a unnoticeable area first.
