What kinda of videa cards u guys have? Im thinking of getting the GeForce4 TI4200. Its down to $180 at a store near me.

I run mine on a PIII 667, with 1 gig Ram, GeForce 2 64 Meg Video Card, all on a Red Hat 7.3 system with 1.5 gig of swap space ... *L* ...
Granted I am only getting about 45-50 fps (Low number during the middle of a fur-ball on an outside map) at 800x600x16 but its still playable ...
Whats great is according to the box I shouldnt be able to play it since they say a minimum processor of a PIII (or P4) 750 + ...
Guess WinBlow$ running in the background causes the need to have more CPU cycles ..

well.... i'm running on this system.....
amd 1.2 o/ced to 1350, 512m ddr, g2gts 32meg ( i should get a new card... but i'm too cheap), 100meg swap file..... wheni play online i run the graphics at 800X600 and lower most of the detail..... this way any lag i get should only be cuz of the server... when i play the single player side i turn it all up to the max and only when then are 10+ explosions going on do i get any frame skip/drops....
now i'm torn.... do i get a new vid card or get a SB extigy(sp?)... i got a ton of stuff to put onto minidisc but i'm addicted to this blasted game now..... =)Virus, King of the Basement Trollz has spoken

I've got a GeForce 4 Ti4400 for $200. Look at www.pricewatch.com. Look for an MSI GeForce4Ti4400 VTD. has a capture port, LCD and VGA port and can run an LCD and VGA at the same time.

I ran the benchmark and ran at 96 fps during the flyby, and 40 fps during the bot match. I cranked down the res some, and the detail level, and I don't I get low fps- what is the show fps command?

AMD 1600 at 1.53 Ghz
1.024GB DRR RAM
I think I'll crank everything down pretty far for multi also- sometimes I get this annoying frame drop, but it happens to me in almost every game.

What does "CRT Only" mean? Ive been looking at the TI4200's and some say that. I dont know what if will effect me. And if its DDR, does that mean my pc ram has to be DDR? Cause I have pc133 ram.Comment

the 4200 is going to be significantly cheaper by the end of december. I wouldn't make a definitive decision until 2-3 weeks before Christmas.Shoot it like you stole it!

Ah I see there is another lover of the Unreal Tournament. I got it when it firts came out and just love it. How far have you gotten in it? I"ll tell ya what the last board is friggin awsome you play against malcom 1on1 in a maze type board. Whats your name when your playing on line, I'll look for ya if I can or I'll email you the srver my buddy is going to set up that we are going to run.

That last bombing run has a lot to do with patience. Also it has a lot to do with how you set up your team. I would set 2 guys to guard that have a high accuracy rate, 2 guys that had a high agility to attack and I would roam around. I would try and work the middle building and clear a path for my teammates its not easy but it will work to your advatage. Just keep pluggin away and you'l get it.Comment
