    Any psychologists in the forums?

I need a better job...and one that is related to my major....is there anyone out there looking for a good trainee...or a secretary...or something related to psych...or at least something that pays good and is in the general Atl,GA area!
(Sorry...I know this is completely off pb topic...I'm bored and tired...)

    I'm a psychology major too!

I'm taking a small break (a year at most) before going on to graduate school

My fiance just graduated with a psych degree - BA. Very hard to find jobs in that field though... unless you live in right part of US... or you have move degrees.

I'm doing my med school rotation right now at a major trauma center in Detroit (Detroit Receiving Hospital, it was on TLC's "Trauma: Life in the ER" last monday 10/7/02 and again on the 14th with a different episode), and have gotten to know a lot of the right people throughout the hospital, and the Psych ward there is in dire need of people. So you may want to try going to some of the hospitals in your area and look to see what they have to offer. ALso try a veterans hospital in your area if there is one. That would a be great experience, as well as help with having a little inside track and precursor when it comes to starting any clinical rotations that you may have.
It's just an idea, but it may be worth it to look into it.

I too stduied it in the course of earing my Criminal Justice degree. It is an extremely tough field to get into...I wish you luck. But, it is a great "people tool" to have. I wanted to do forensic psychology...but every time I think about going to school...we go to war. So, I guess fate is trying to tell me something...
Sorry. Got off topic. Good luck...look in the DC area.

College level stuff right now is more along the lines of lectures and theories...I'm in a science psych class right now...alot of brain stuff...one thing...take ANATOMY in High school if you're thinking about majoring in psych...that is one of my major regrets! I wouldn't take it because we were required to disect a cat...but I really wish I would've ...take it...and learn it! Now I'm going to have to go back and take it in college...and it'll be harder and I'm more behind in my psych class...the professor will talk about certain "medical" names for things and I'm left asking...what?? So...take it.
I love psych though! And I've found alot of new friends that are also majoring in psych!

I'm also majoring in Psych... At the moment I'm looking at clinical w/ an emphasis on children.... On the other end of the spectrum, I'm also interested in forensic psych...

None of that psychiatry crap for me, it's all about the psychology
I'm way too old for this ****.
