      after resizing (and maintaining the proportions of) an image, trying applying a Sharpen filter (and adjust its opacity) to clean up the blur often caused by drastically altering the size of an image.

      also, you may wish to make your name on a different layer so you can maintain it at a readable size. keep working with the tools and you'll be able to see marked progress in your work.
