my comp wont play dvd's anymore

whenever i try to play dvd's on my comp( i do have a dvd drive) it says adjust your color and screen depth. i did that in all the combos i could and it still wont work. then i went to the site for the program and followed all the instructions. still nothing. then i downloaded intervideo windvd and that wont work either. i dont know. could it be that i have been using my dvd drive copy music cd's? it says it can so i dunno. its really annoying. any help would be much appreciated.

i dont have them for the interactual player and i have already re-installed intervideo windvd. i dont know what to do. i am on the verge of calling dell tech support.....
