Learning Adobe Photoshop 7.0

Well i aquired this programme through school so that i can learn how to use it before i go to do Co-Op. I saw some really neat work on these boards that have been made. the one that really caught my eye is the one with the Xmags being faded and colored. So basically i am asking this to be a thread on teaching people how to use photoshop. I made my Signature myself so i know some basics already, But i would love to know how to alter colors of something or fade them.

the easiest way to alter the color of an image is thru Image>Adjust>Hue/Sat.

Create a duplicate layer of your image to work on, use the above feature to alter the color how you want it, then mask off/delete the parts of the image that you do not want colored.

This is kinda off the subject, but I just downloaded this off the internet last night from winmx, and I have no idea on how to install in on my computer. I unzipped the file, but there are like twenty one files inside, some text, bitmap, and others i don't know what. Please help!!

Once you a true master of photoshop, you can create such masterpeices as this:

Hrm. Yes. I stink. I am better at editing pictures, rather then creating them. Practice is the #1 key though. Sure you can read up on how to do everything, but practice will make you be able to do more beyond what the book tells you. Trial and error is your freind.

Check out PhotoImpact and Print Shop Pro.

They are like Adobe photoshop for dummies. They wont do everything, and they wont do everything as well, but the learning curve is MUCH kinder.
