Car Show Pics!! Check out this Subaru!!!
Well if you are a World Rally Fan (and I am very much into WRC stuff) today was an awsome day!! Today was a huge car show in South Jersey, the Marine Corps. Toys for Tots show to be exact, and about 600 cars from all over the Deleware Vally came. Well, after my dad and I parked this little blue Subaru parked next to me. Much to my surprise, It was right had drive. I immediatly knew what it was!!!
There are only 437 of these cars in the WORLD, and only ONE in the US. This car is owned by Subaru and they let thier head marketing guy bring it to the show!! Subaru's American Headquarters is not far from where the show took place. This car has been in countless magazines and is in the Subaru TV commercials!! So, here are the stats:
2.2 Litre 4 clyinder "Boxer" engine, turbocharged (obviously) only 14 1/2 lbs of boost. The heads were ported and polished, cams and everything else are the SAME as you get in a WRX off the showroom floor. The main difference comes in the "electronic engine management" he said with a grin.
340 HP to the wheels!!
360 ft lbs. of tourqe to the wheels!!
0 to 60 in 3.9 seconds!! In Japan, he said this car would sell for somewhere around $75,000!!!! Yikes.
The red coating is a heat treatment that is used in airplane construction, it lowers the temperature of whatever metal it is sprayed onto by about 11 degrees.

Center Diff control!!! You can adjust for gravel surface, paved road, hard clay, etc etc!! This is a "Class N" Rally car as it stands, it would need much more fancy electronics to be a all out WRC car, but this is pretty darn close for still being street legal!
