1983 Toyota Celica Supra
2.8 L Inline-6
140 Horsepower
112,000 miles

Needs a little bodywork and a new paintjob, but not bad for $1050!

Nice car. I had a '82 Nissan 240sx, or was it 200 anyway, in high school and always raced my friend in his '82 Celica Gt, both had 4 cyl. We both wanted a Supra for the 6 cyl.! Good luck, and don't drive fast! Thought I should put that in so I wouldn't be liable?!

Geez... it isn't THAT nice!

it isn't able to "smoke alot of cars out there" I mean, it only has 140hp! Maybe it'll be faster then alot of cars its age, but anything past 1990 will destroy my car!

I have given a thought to modding my car to make it faster, but then I realized that with the cost and benefits of doing that, I might as well just save up and buy a new car. I Mean, at a minimum I would have to do an engine swap to the 7M-GTE engine, which is the Turbo engine of the MKIII supra's. It will make it alot faster, but not as reliable. Thats one thing I like about my car, no matter how cold, warm, or inbetween it will ALWAYS start up and take me where I want to go. I could probably put well over 100k more miles on the engine if I take care of it...

I also have the lowest HP supra there is... doh!
1984 they went to 150hp, 1985 and 86 they had 160. In 1986.5 they intruduced the new generation supra, the Mk III, which had 200hp NA, and 230 turbo. 1993.5 brought the MKIV, and we all know how fast they get!

Nice car man. I wouldn't be suprised if that thing could smoke some newer cars. If it's a manuel you should be able to take a lot of hondas. I mean i got a '91 GTi with a 1.8l 8v with a few mods and only running about 110hp and can beat a lot of cars newer than mine. Just gotta practice launching off the line. Remember though, if you're gonna race do it at the track.

I did have some good 'ol detroit muscle... minus the muscle part...

My first car was a 1976 Plymouth Volare. let me tell you i jumped for joy the day a 1994 Honda Civic rear-ended me going 45 miles an hour... ok, so maybe I jumped AFTER the whiplash wore off...

I love my Toy SOOOOO much more it isn't even funny! They both were around the same speed, but my car is ALOT lighter, easier to control, better on snow AND it gets almost 3 times as much gas per gallon!

Don't get me wrong, I like cars of all types, its just that blindly following one make of vehicles doesnt make sense to me. Buy what you like, and move on.
