Is Cheese Cake a pie???

There is like one posted that has "cheese cake pie" but the rest are just cheese cake....cake..

recipe titles can not be used to gauge the true inner workings of a dish (the are marketing tools, not instructions)

from good eats (if you don't know, you are missing out. the host, alton brown is more or less the mr wizard of cooking and spends quite a bit of time each show on what is chemically going on it the dishes to be prepared)

Any way. I'm a pie eating type of guy and I love Cheese Cake with all the gram chaker crinklies for pie shell topped with cherries.. mmmmmm cherries..

So is it a pie or a cake.. Well It's a pie in my eyes and to me.. that's all that matters really.

I really dont care what it is, but the cheescake shake from Katz Deli here in Austin is very yummy, best damn shake I've ever had.

NO DOUBT...it's pie. cake is made with flour type material, cake is made with fruit/squishy material...who ever says its a cake is really wrong. cakes have icing. if you put icing on a cheesecake it would TOTALLY mess it up. if you need anymore things to tell its a pie...pies are in crust...cheese cake is too. all roads lead to rome...or in this case...pie
