i bought an Xbox, and I have no regrets whatsoever

everyone complained about the big controls, i didn't have a problem with them, but now I use my Controller S 100% of the time, unless someone with tiny hands comes over....

I am a big fan of Halo, I play a lot of LAN games, 4 on 4, even 6 on 6 a few times.

If you like Action games and SHooters, get Xbox, becuase the best Shooters, like Splinter Cell, Halo 2, Unreal Tournament, etc... will all be out for the Xbox.

I just don't like the little kid games that Nintendo always has. I play shooters because good ones can be really intense, and very relaxing, with the exception of Goldeneye and Perfect Dark, Nintendo has always been lacking in that category.

Not to bash GC, Pikmin is too addictive to be legal, but it's not a real gamer's console. If you're into a lot of hardcore PC games, Xbox will be much more satisfying.

if you don't play PC games, then you won't care that the games don't have the depth of many PC games, so just flip a coin
I'm going through paintball withdrawal, I haven't been able to play since November 2003!

cause the monitor alone would be the price of the console

          EnderWigginPballin,

I don't know how to put this politely, but you don't really know what gaming is.

          You said:
Not to bash GC, Pikmin is too addictive to be legal, but it's not a real gamer's console.

The Nintendo Gamecube is not a real gamer's console?!?!?!? Do you even know who Shigeru Miyamoto is? A real gamer would know the genius of this man. Why is OoT regarded as one of the best games of all time? The entire Mario series has evolved at each version as the greatest platformers.

Nintendo has the MOST million sellers of all video game companies. If you are saying that the Gamecube is not a real gamer's console then you are blind to what video games are.

I play shooters because good ones can be really intense, and very relaxing, with the exception of Goldeneye and Perfect Dark, Nintendo has always been lacking in that category.

There is a reason why Nintendo did not have many FPS last generation, they lacked third party support. This generation they do. However, FPS blows on a console. If you want to play a FPS, you need a mouse and a keyboard. Quake III had it's controls dumbed down so it could be playable on a console.

If you're into a lot of hardcore PC games, Xbox will be much more satisfying.

Like HalB said, why not just use a PC?

I just don't like the little kid games that Nintendo always has.

What's wrong with little kid games? They are actually made for all audiences. Mario Sunshine has some of the best reviews out there.

Zelda was given the award for best console game. So he looked like a girl, Link is SUPPOSED to be like eight years old. He isn't supposed to be some man-beast with claws protruding from his eyes and killer bees shooting from his excrement.

Let's go back to your post again: Not to bash GC, Pikmin is too addictive to be legal, but it's not a real gamer's console.

A real gamer would not make a completey blind fanboy statement like this. You can break down a game into its components and review it like that. I judge games differently. The more a game takes over my life, the better it is.

Isn't a game that you call too addictive to be legal a good game then? The greatest games have had me hooked start to finish. This winter break, I plan on being a complete pile of dung.

I predict that I will burn an image of my body on the wall, my thumbs will bleed, and my hands will turn orange from the piles of Cheetos that I will eat. Any game or console that can do this is good in my book.

Ten million people did not buy the Gamecube because it sucks. They bought it to have fun.

Anybody who has questioned the genius and quality of Nintendo needs a healthy doseage of play time. I recommend Pong. As simple as this game is, it is what gaming is all about. It's fun!

1, could it be that gaming to you and gaming to me are different things?

2,I disagree, shooters can be great on either PC or console, Goldeneye and Perfect Dark had near perfect controls, Quake III just happens to be much better on PC. more technical shooters with more advanced controls do usually turn out better on PC.

3, why not use a PC? compare $200 for Xbox to $1000-1200 for a pretty good gaming PC.

4, there's nothing wrong with little kid games, I just don't like them, I am allowed to have opinions right???

and by the way, I still have and play NES, SNES and N64. Mario 3 is my all time favorite Nintendo game. I just have not cared for the more recent Mario 64 or even OoT, I just never liked it. Of course, when OoT first came out I was playing massive amounts of Starcraft and Age of EMpires, so I didn't care much about single player console games at the time, i had my 64 for Bond multiplayer.

            let me re-phrase something....
I feel that hardcore PC gamers who play FPS and other realistic games on their PCs will enjoy playing the Xbox more than they would enjoy playing Gamecube.

Pikmin is awesome, it's the only RTS I've ever played on a console that I liked.

first off when people say that x-box is dieing, they are wrong. I know someone who works in microsoft and he said that x-box is far from dieing since they have ALOT of money going in to back it up. 2nd x-box has better graphics. x-box somes with a built in hard drive so u dont have to buy anoying memory cards. And lastly, GC is specifically targetted to poeple around the age of 12 ... Lets take for example, super monkey ball (or whatever its called).. need i say moer. Mario sunshine .... u clean up the environment.. if u want games that have action go for x-box, if u want games for 10 year olds Or want to wate 6 months for a game targeted for older people go gc.jsut to add my 2 cents.

ps- my opinion is save up more and get an alienware pc and load up on 1st person shooters etc.

ok i got more specific imfo from my source (lol) at microsoft. Microsoft has 2 billion dollars into x-box and you should see new games coming out for it. There is this one game coming out ( i forget name) but u command battalions and the game is so complex it comes witha 40 button joystick and a 200$ price tag!!But realy this decision comes to personaly preferance.

The $200 game is called Steel Battalion. I don't know if I would pay that much for one game. I like the gamecube because its fun. I think the people who think its only for kids are children themselfs. I think all new controllers can be difficult to get used to. Took a day or two to get used to the gamecube controller. Don't expect too much out of the controller from only playing with it for 10min.
Wait till they get a load of me.
