I haven't seen it yet, but the "Halle Berry can't act" comment should be addresed. They don't give oscars out to just anyone. This may not have been her best role, but she must be doing something right to get an oscar.

          Just my opinion.

                      ****SPOILER ALERT****

I just saw it, it was okay. They really should've renamed the movie "James Bond: Xtreme!". Come on, in the beginning sequence, they came in on surfboards? Then later, when Bond is being chased by that massive sunbeam, he uses part of that ice racer as a snowboard. On top of that, he takes a freakin jump! That DNA replacement therapy or whatever seemed a little over the top as well. The movie had its moments, John Gleason (or whatever his name was) wasn't bad as Q, and the scene with Moneypenny at the end was pretty funny. I think this Bond was just a response to movies like triple X and the upcoming "Extreme Ops", which looks really stupid.

I saw it, and it has hte desired effect on me. It had many elements of older james bond movies.. just to a bit more technical extreme. Like I said it had the desired effect on me... I walked out of the movie thinking 'that was fricking awesome." Yea.. some of hte acting was not good.. some of the special effects were cheasy.. but the overall appeal was fine for me.

John Cleese is perfect for the new Q. It was sorts of sad and sort of strange that right after the World is Not Enough was released, in which Desmond Morrela (sp?), the original Q, noted of his retirement from MI6, he was killed in a car wreck I belive in London. But I belive Cleese has risen to the part perfectly.

This one actually had a really cool villan with really cool toys just like the older films... it even went to the extent of having the laser going to cut someone in half strapped to a table thing.

The plot did mildly resemble that of "GoldenEye"... but not really, and that wouldn't bother me, I personally favor GoldenEye over the rest of the bond movies. (I just ordered it on DVD actually)

One of the special effects that was actually awesome in the movie was the car... an Aston Martin Vanquish. The scene where the platform rolls out and bond makes the comment "I think you people have spent too much time down here" was where I about figured it out. Then it became obvious to me (but not the rest of the audience I don't think) of what was on the platform when Q walked around it and you saw the bending of his legs around the surface of the car.. I thought the pixelating of the car when in went into and out of the invisble mode was done very finely. The car chase one the ice was beautiful.

Overall I was pleased. I liked this movie more than some older bond film because of the techy gadgets. Older bond films may have nostalgia, but htey don't have all the cool stuff of this movie.

I thought the opening sequence during the Madonna sogn in the beginning was nice.. allthought I did not like the song itself. That is one thing which can stay old styled in bond films- the music.

I saw it friday, I think it was better than the last Bond movie but that still not saying much.

Really the only part I liked about the movie was Bond's car. And when the snowmobile guy hit his car when it was invisable. That was just really funny for some reason.

Edit - oh and some of those sexual innuendo were VERY stupid. Alot of sounded like it was coming from a 5th grader.

I say I almost got up and left when I the intro song began to play lol. That ruined the next 5 minutes. That does not belong in a James Bond movie.

It was ok...But lately alot of movies have been pushing to far in the action, goining over the limit of unrealistic stunts. Like the scene after the ice racer thing escaping the laser, and him using it's parashoot and part of the racer to surf/glide. I'm sure some kid at his house could make better effects.

The money penny scene was funny.

                            Cool car chase.

Very nice sword fight. (I'm actually going to start fencing soon. Me and some freinds have been looking for a place for some weeks now)

Some good scenes, but some cheesy stupid ones too.

yeah, I thought the movie was only "all right" as well...

I personally believe that the bond series hit its peak with Goldfinger, and has steadily gone downhill since then... Roger Moore, George Lazenby, Timothy Dalton, and Pierce Brosnan can't hold a candle to Connery!

Brosnan does a good job at it, and I believe that his first two films (Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies) were really good, The World Is Not Enough didn't do it for me... Something about the movie just kinda sucked. I guess I lost respect for it when they made Denise Richards a Nuclear Scientist...

Back to Die another Day. I also think that the opening sequence was one of the best up to date. I usually hate the weird singing and computer graphics of chicks dancing don't work, but in this one it kinda made sense... you could see Madonna giving bond "hope" while he was being tortured and such, and I thought it was done very well.

The rest of the movie wasn't that great. As the people pointed out, it seemed like an overly long special effects stunt from the beginning. I'm all for action, but after two hours even that gets kind of boring!

But hey, whats with this world when you can't believe what goes on in a Bond movie ACTUALLY EXISTS!
