any free ride/down hill mtn bikers? look at this wild thing

OMG! I want this so bad now

www.brooklynmachineworks.com is the website of the manufacturer of this bike. Weighs close to 60 lbs. This is not a cross country bike, its a Down Hill Missile. Anyone else in here into Downhill/free ride MTN biking?

Specialized big hit comp or Kona stinky? These are my two choices for next season.

EDIT: attatched new file to save AO space

Good to know that somone of Tom's status seeks "relief" from a sport he helped create. A sport now ruled by a single patent.

But that wheelbase seems way to short for downhilling I'd still like to have one though!

of course they do, they are the best (*cough* hayes *cough*). They are the best for all weather, they stop you in rain when "v" or "l" brakes don't do to well.

Dayum, 12 inches is crazy. My friend who rides: Freestyle, Cross-country, Downhill, road. Has a dh bike with something like 8 or 9 and its already crazy. Real fun to ride. If i didnt have so much money in paintball i might get back into might mtn biking.

I have not ridden downhill for many years, but that is one of the most radical designs I have ever seen.

Also, I have run into situations where that masive amountof rear travel would have been welcomed.

The website said they shortened the wheel base to increase manuverability. They shortened it I think about 10 inches. It also lost 10 lbs in 10 inches of suspension/frame reduction

Its said that the wheel comes just a milimeter under full compression from the rear fender.
