    For my money I would go with the Canon... Simply based on personal experience with their cameras... mine is rock solid... plus I don't like the smartmedia cards the olympus used... they feel like an overly small potato chip...

        Well I went out and bought my dad an Olympus Camedia C-4000. I think he will be very happy with it, and I was impressed with the demo model at the store. Thanks to all of you for helping me decide, and once christmas is over I will have access to a digital cam so I can post pictures of my mag and other stuff here on AO.

        Although when I first got the camera I turned it on to make sure it worked and there was a huge green dot on the LCD screen . But the store let me swap it out for another one, and it works just fine!


        Oh yeah I also got him a 128 meg card, a case, and some rechargeable batteries. Is there anything I'm missing or you think I should get?
