Well the first thing that you want to do is back everything up. Burn your important files to a cd or save them some other place (like a second hard drive). As far as formatting your Windows xp cd should be able to do everything. First thing you will do is to delete your primary partition, this will allow you to create a new partition that you will be able to format. Once you format the new partition you can install windows on it, and then install all of your other software from the driver discs that you should have.

If you don't have an XP cd then it can be a little tricky, and you'll have to use boot disk's. I would highly recommened that you don't do this by yourself the first time. Find someone that you know who has done this thing before, and have them help you.

    Hope this helps,

Make sure you have everything backed up.
Like spongebob said, insert the Windows install disk, hit F8 when it says boot from cd (or sometimes it will automatically pick it up) Wait for it to load, then I think you have to select install windows and it will ask you to format windows.. I think the common format is NTFS?
Click format, and it will take a long time but thats how it works. When u install windows, it comes with IE, and you need drivers and connection settings for your modem.
