Congrats Devil!!! Isn't home ownership great! You've got bills, bills and more bills. Then there's the yardwork, house maintenance, painting and among other things, did I mention bills? Just kidding, the bills may seem staggeringly(if that's a word) large, but once you get used to them, it's no problem at all. I wasn't trying to bring you down, I just thought I'd poke fun at home ownership. I've had mine for a while and it's all the thing I just mentioned. I wish you all the best and happiness in your new home.

I hope to come and check it out one day, hopefully when Moose isn't around.

well, right now it's just renting, but if I like it we'll move to the ownership phase...but it's a family friend and she's not paying for any upgrades or anything...so it basically is my own house....and don't I already know about those *EDIT* Devil Devil Devil.......my oh my, what shall I do with you? Cussing it up like a sailor, in front of all the kids too. mm, mm, mmmmmmm. Army bills....

Now the fun part, cleaning, and painting...and moving in!

Wow! At 18 I think the most expensive thing I owned was my stereo! Wait... I'm 31 and that's still the case. Watch out for home electronics. They'll take over your life!

I had a place of my own at 18 as well. Except I rented with all guys.

Needless to say it didn't last very long, I soon became their mother always picking up after them and feeding them. I never got to date anyone because they would scare them away.

However I think your stituation is different good luck Devil. Best wishes on your new home.

Well on the bright side you can just send a can of paint to DIABLO or something and have em make actual "PAINTBALLS" for you .. paint it that way, all art-deco style ..lol

Congrats and hope you like your new home .... when I move to Seattle I'm going to look into doing the same thing, but since I'm still in Arizona right now I'm stickin' w/ my 3 bedroom apartment .... its a 22yr olds dream apartment, but I want a house already!!...

check with HUD, they can do a free/low price evaluation on the house to see if anythings wrong with it. after that, go to a lawyer and pay for a half hour session so he can check out the lease agreement if your not 100 percent sure about it.

I'm not going on a cruise...moose is/did...he left me at 7 tonight... !

The lease is with a family friend...and I know all the things that need fixing and all...but...I think I might just rent there until I'm 21, then buy a house of my own...

At this house I'll be living with all girls...right now I live with 2 guys and 2 other girls...guy roommates are usually a whole lot better than chicks...but the frymarker is right...you end up their mother...hehe!

Congratulations on the new house!

I hope everything works out with your roommates. I now realize that I will never live with friends again, it always ends up a mess in the end. I got my own place with a good friend (who I knew since the 3rd grade) when I was 18. We couldn't stand each other after 2 years of sharing an apartment and our friendship will never be the same again. I guess I should have taken everyone's advice beforehand but I figured that it would be different between us.

Anyhow, best of luck with your new home!
