Harry Potter and the Chamber Of Secrets

Well we took Sebastian(4) and Athena(2) this past Saturday,

to see the new Harry Potter movie. I have to hand it to the woman who wrote those novels J.K. Rowling, she definitely knows how to spark a childs imagination and hold their attention.

The movie was 3 hours long, now most of us know that children tend to have a short attention span which usually lasts for about 15 minutes, my daughter is 10 seconds.

They sat almost without blinking glued to the screen.

There are some scary parts in which my daughter hid under her blankey but all in all, I thought is was a great movie.

I really enjoyed the fact that they used the same cast of characters as the first and added some new ones. When sequels that come out use a different actor, children get confused, so I was very happy with that.

The special effects were great also.

I can't wait for the next one, I hope there will be a next one.

I plan on buying the books now that Sebastian understands the words they use and the characters.

I was first confused when I first heard a boy trying to explain the book to me, however after seeing the movie, it made more sense.

I give it 2 thumbs up.

I thought it was a very good movie. Unfortunately, my memory of it will be tainted by the fact that we got creamed by a drunk driver on the way home. (More on that in another post later).

The acting seemed to be less cardboard in this one, and the sets were a little cooler-looking. I'm still not sure I really like the style of the books, but they do translate well to film.

I took my nephew...we loved it! Except he kept ruining it for me. I told him I'd leave him there if he opened his mouth again...
But, it is cool that adults can take their kids to a kid movie and actually enjoy it. I thought it was an amazing flick. I want that castle!!!

I really like the Harry Potter movies also. My now nine year old is reading the books as home work. Both he and the six year old also sat glued to the screen. My wife enjoyed helping the eldest read the first book so much that she has read all the Harry Potter books! I really like the way the movie is just like the book. They don't change anything and leave out as little as possible. Other movie makers should take notice!

I thought it was better than the first. I have no good excuse to go since we have no kids

I went and saw the first one with my girlfriend, and we both really liked it. I was a little skeptical at first but it turned out to be a great movie. Even for someone who is 21.
