For Christmas, my dad bought a DVD player to put in our living room. It was a Sony Dream DVD box, so it had a subwoofer, and 5 mid-ranges; to use for surround sound.
So me and my friend hooked everything up, and then he found out he could spend the night. We didn't have any DVD's, so we just listened to music. It is really nice
So I called up my dad, and asked him to pick up a couple DVD's from the video rental place. When he came home, we hooked up the video cable (it was confusing, because we have an old TV, and it doesn't have the yellow red and white plugs. I forgot what they are called.), and the DVD player has a few video output holes. We had to do it like we did the N64, we put the plugs in the holes for the VCR.
So to use whatever is hooked up to the VCR, be it an N64 or DVD player, you have to have the VCR to be on channel "L", start to play a VHS tape, and then push stop. The screen turns blue. Then you simply turn whatever is hooked up to the VCR on, and it should work.
But whenever a non-static image was on the screen, it would start to play, then slightly fade, then go back to that blue screen. A few seconds later, it would slightly fade back in, then show the picture. It does this at a fairly regular rate.
It doesn't do this for static images though, like the starting screen for some DVD's. Does anyone know anything about this? I am waiting for a response from Sony about this problem, also.
But the audio is great, I'm listening to music right now.
